Yeay! Mum treated us all to drinks. She just can’t say no to coffee—if they serve it, she’s all in. My sister wanted us to tough out the cold, so she picked Starbucks. She’s tried Coffee Bean before but not Starbucks, so this was new for her.
No joke, it was freezing that night. I’ve gone up there for coffee loads of times, but for some reason, I felt way colder than usual. Maybe the wind? Maybe I barely slept? Who knows.
Coffee is exactly what I need. We were halfway through our drinks before we remembered to call Dad. He was so engrossed at the casino and it took him about 30 to 45 minutes to make his way from the casino to Starbucks. That’s just Dad being Dad, always exploring at his own pace, checking things out, trying to understand how different games work, and so on.
Before leaving Starbucks, we took photos with the Hari Raya decorations. I’ve always wanted to try playing the kompang. Next stop: Indoor Theme Park! Dad promised to win me something. Let’s see if he can.
