Tea after pancakes? |
 |

Backdated post. Actual event took place on 9 March 2006.
The night ghost has surfaced. Obvoiusly pancakes isn’t just the agenda for the day. It’s a normal culture for us to have after dinner plans… of course there are exceptions… when some of them are too busy or well… somehow too tired.
In today’s case, our plan was very english. Yeah…. pancakes and tea. We were supposed to try out this tea place (which will be featured in some further post). However, it closes sorta early so we gotta drop down at some place which closes late enough for us to crap around, take loads of photos and best of all still enjoy tea… as planned earlier.
Seems to me there is no better place than starbucks. Coffee person could continue on with their coffee addict… tea planner have their tea and well… sit down and chit chat. Evan who din make it to the pancake house *shake head* (totally wasted) manage to join us for yum char session.
I have no idea how come we have so many things to talk about… but well.. conversations just never run dry and we still manage to hang out till like 2-3am.
Ah… that’s the best way to end things…. a warm cup of chamomile tea. yummy and sleepy

The Wild. |
 |

The Wild official site: http://www.thewildmovie.com/
The cinema market is now being flooded with 3D animations and well.. my friend pointed the fact to me that the current trend in 3D is animals. Which I find it quite true… most of the up and coming 3D has animal characters in it as well. Probably it is something easier to do? I dunno.. I am not a pro animator.. so who am I to judge. I am just some lazy ass.. who buy a bottle of mineral water.. stuck my butt to a numbered sit then shake some legs and watch whatever movie that is being shown.
As remembered, I tot I saw a photocopy of Madagascar. It’s true… everything is so alike… animals… zoo.. the hype about the wild… I mean.. well.. and it is almost a back to back thing. I dunno can’t blame me for confusing.
The story tells about Samson, the great and mighty king of the zoo. Everyday, people come to see Samson the great and would be glad if they could hear Samson roar. Samson’s son, Ryan on the other side is always fascinated by Samson’s stories about the wild. As curious as he is about the wild, he very much respect his father’s talent to roar because he can’t roar for good. The worst part, everyone is laughing at him because he seems to be meow-ing rather than roaring.
One day, being sad after he screw up his father’s game, he decided to find some place to sit down and think.. Yeah… some place his dad always forbid him from going near to. The green box. The next thing Ryan knows, he was being locked up in the green box and is transported to some far place. Samson and his friends is all set to rescue his son. They all then have this rescue mission to save Ryan.
On the way to save Ryan, they go through lots of obsticles which includes being chased and nearly bitten by some stray dogs. Hahaha.. yeah one could imagine… how a lion is so afraid of stray dogs? Yeah… that really did happen. To run away from the stray dogs, they use the underground tunnels which they end up seeing two alligators. Fear till death.. they tot they would spell F.O.O.D to the alligator. However the two alligator is cool enough to show them the way to the Statue of Liberty. Oh yeah.. forget to mention how I love the way the koala pretend to be the Statue of Liberty.
Samson and his gang is a little late when they saw Ryan being transported to a boat. Samson and his gang faster jump on to a small boat and goes after Ryan.. which they all end up in an island. Yeap… the green box is actually used to transport the animals from the island to the zoo due to some volcano erruption problem. Being scared till death.. Ryan just ran in to the jungle.
Samson is all set to save Ryan when misfortunes keep happening which leads to know Samson’s biggest secret.
A story which I think combined The Lion King and Madagascar to me does not do the trick. I find the animation details were less noticibl. And I just think it wasn’t funny or tickle enough to make me smile. I think it was rather boring… okay.. maybe I was too busy comparing it with Madagascar.
But no… even the plot itself seems to be a little too shallow and seems like everything has been fast forwarded. The rescue mission in the New York town seems fast… it’s like… blink blink.. there you are.
Well.. maybe I sorta have high hope for uncle disney.. but well… it’s okay.. people do fail once a while.

Food at Paddington house of pancakes. |
 |

Backdated post. Actual event took place on 9 March 2006.
Yeay.. a continuation from the previous post.. this time.. solely on food. *drool*… I just love doing that each time I talk about food better even when talk about chocolates.
We decided to order different different types of food to try out. Seriously there is loads of pancakes. I guess there were more than 300 combinations (if not mistaken). Yeah… can you imagine… if I was working nearby… it takes me 3 months to finish trying every single thing on the menu. And the best part… I think my memory tells me it is surely more than 300 types. *blink blink*
Jon ordered the Fried Dory Fish Pancake Burger. Hahaha… reason so… he is as forgetful as a dory (in Finding Nemo). So yeah… a forgetful person eating a forgetful fish burger… How matching. Hahaha… I had a bite of it.. it taste good.. except I have never really eaten dory fish before… and I still do wonder if it is blue in colour. Yeah yeah *busy googling coz “I feel lucky”*
Brian ordered Seafood Pancake Pie. I has this similar feel to a lasagna. Yeah…. but seriously.. it is really good with good portions of seafood. Fish, mussels, prawns and squids… yummy.. but well… I just wish the sauce was thicker coz it seems a little too watery for me. But then again… everyone’s taste is different. Oh yeah.. forgive me for not taking pictures of what is beneath the pie… ahahaha… I’m creating a sense of mystery.
Gigi took Brian’s recommendation and ordered this Dollar Pancake. Hemmm… rather good choice I would say. Everything was cut into small pieces. Even the pancake itself is smaller than the ones we normally seen. Hahaha… it’s so easy to be eaten as everything is mostly bite size. Not much cutting here and there needed to be done.
As for me… I ordered this Grilled Chicken Pancake Burger. Ermmm.. well they had a special name for it.. but I sorta forgot *my bad my bad… please forgive me for my long term memory lost* Ermmm.. well.. the dish was superb… combination of grilled chicken topped with some thick tomato sauce… cheese… loads of melted cheese.. and best part of all.. crunchy hash brown. All these different texture being seperated by a soft pancake. Ah…. *drool again*
As for drinks…. gigi with her normal cafe latte routine. Me and brian ordered the same drink… which is the Fizzy Berry. Wow… I can only say… it sure is very berry! Jon… ordered something similar to ours.. just different fruits. Yeah… if you noticed… I forgot what it was. I actually put all the blame on the pancakes which looks and taste so good that I forgot everyone else.
I think I need to go back there for like 4 months (everyday)…. to finish trying everything!

velverse the piggie. |
 |
Hehe…. I love piggies. Okay.. I actually fancy other animals more than pigs. Betcha din actually know that huh? Hahaha… true… just because I have loads of piggie avatars and all… everyone actually thinks I love piggies.
Okay.. not that I dun love.. just… I dunno.. not the first thing that cross my mind.
I was chatting with Jae Sern over MSN in the afternoon and we were talking about our arty farty stuffs. Yeah… he is good in doing characters. I always admire his skills for that.
Haha… I saw some of his project works and he showed me some remix versions. Yeah… he use his friends character and redo another one of his own versions. I told him I want a pig character. Hahaha.. he told me to draw him a sketch. Well.. and so I did.. using my “lauyah” skills to draw in MSN… Jae Sern turn me into an overweight piggie.
Hehe… Kiutz giler! Loved it~ *thanks jaebot* Let’s do more of this. It’s FUN!

When A Stranger Calls. |
 |

When A Stranger Calls official site: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/whenastrangercalls/
Didn’t your mama ever warn you never talk to strangers? As a matter of fact, do we really listen to them? But then again.. does my mama ever listen to my grandma and does my grandma even listen to my great grandma… and on and on and on?
If my mum did listen to my grandma… I wonder how he would know my dad. And well, with the current technology like Internet, can we really resist the temptations to talk to strangers? Yeah… and well, to me… strangers are people I haven’t know. Which then leaves me to the option of wanting to know them or not.
Back to the movie, Gigi decided that she wants to watch the movie. Obviously I have no objections. Not that I am kind or what.. but movies…. I mean.. they are like diamonds to girls. I just loved it.. but then again.. thriller and horror movies, I am too chicken to watch it alone.. thus most of the time I skip them when there is no one to accompany me to see it. Yeah.. you will know how chicken I can be if you ever watch movie together with me.
The movie resolves around a teenage young girl (Jill) being grouded by her parents because she over used her phone limits. Yeah.. way over limits. Thus, her parents decided to make her babysit in order to earn some cash and learn to be more responsible. Yeah.. the reason for the over limits.. she had this long fight/talk with her boyfriend. Yeah… listening him explain why he and her best friend kissed.
Yes… like all thriller movie.. you will start to sit down and wonder why the location they are heading is so deep inside and well, don’t they ever worry if anything goes wrong? I bet they don’t. Okay.. they have this big house. When Jill arrived, the owners are rushing to leave. So they briefly tell Jill stuffs and left. Everything was okay, and some cleverly suspense scene were incorporated. Yeah… like the maid walking around and never formally introduce herself. The house have this auto detect human and switch on and off the light thingy.
Everything was okay until suddenly weird calls started coming in. Yeah… either no one is talking on the other side or you can hear breathing sounds. The caller even leads Jill to run around like a cat and mouse game. The suspense for the movie was rather long. Yeah.. which keeps me moving about at my seat, covering half my face, slanting my body here and there but the ending, TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!
I have no idea what the director is thinking. The caller was some psycho maniac who was being hurt and caught in like 10 minutes and without much battle. Worst is… they even pan through from left to right the “mysterious” caller face. *so potong stim* The ending… it was sad. It was the normal ending which leads you to wonder if there is any sequel to it. Yeah… for my guess. If this movie sells, it surely comes with a sequel.
There are many things which I don’t understand. If you are a parent leaving your children home with a babysitter. When the babysitter says “Would you want me to go up and check?” and you say “NO”. Be logical. Yeah… you worry they might wake up… just because she open the door? As for the psycho killer… How does he know how many people stays there? Where the kids sleep? How you know their house have this auto detect human and switch on and off the light thingy? How would you know they even have a guest house on the opposite?
I am just confused. The opening of the movie really did get me going and I was hoping for more. But I guess it is just disappointing.

Chick-en. |
 |
Backdated post. Actual event took place on 22 February 2006.
The later section of the NUYOU Party. Yeah, supper to most people, but dinner for me. As mention in the previous previous post, we were rather late and didn’t have much time to even eat. So we decided to head to Gasing and have our dinner.
Our PJ tourguide, yeah.. Crappy Booze recommended this place to eat chicken rice. Apperently it is quite famous. Eh… How far true it is… I am not very sure lah. But well, it tasted kinda good.
The beansprout didn’t exectly taste as good as the “ipoh” version ones. Yeah… somehow the lack of crunchy feeling. But my my… I just love the pork meatballs. Yumm… yumm…. As for the chicken… was sorta okay. Maybe it’s been overshadowed by the pork meatballs… so yeah…. I sense pork!! yumm yumm… I want pork…. *hypnotize*

Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. |
 |
|
It has been a long wait. 4 years it is. Yes, everyone has waited 4 years before this second installment is back on the big screen. Scrat, the cute little squirrel with his every precious acorn. With this character alone, it manage to drive everyone to the cinema. Haha…. well, I must say it is pretty good. Although he is not the main cast but still manage to get all the limelight. Ah…. good… just so good.
Yes, at this second installment, it’s all about the ice age melting. Yeap, no thanks to global warming. The ices is melting and all the animals are in a panic mode. Yeah… as per previous movie, Diego, Manny and Sid is set to travel to find this big boat (yeah.. sorta like Noah’s Ark) Why? Erm… well… coz they are living in a valley. It’s like a bowl sorta thing. When filled with water, everything drowns.
In the whole journey, Manny is being sad because everyone kept talking about him being the last mammoth. Well.. well.. everything soon change when he met Ellie. Yeap, another female mammoth. However, she is a mammoth that assumes she is a possum. With all the funny gestures and actions along the way. Yeah… I was laughing like crazy when I saw the possums doing the Robert Deniro’s gesture made famous in ‘Meet the Fockers’ movie. It was simply amazing.
I also love how Sid says that they will evolve into sea creatures and he ask Diego to call him Squid. Hahaha…
Well… obviously there are some dramas here and there along the way. Yeah, Sid who always hunger for attention and respect finally got what he wanted. But well, I guess he din want it anymore coz he finally knows that it would cost him his life and well… he miss Diego *awww……*
Although this show manage to make me laugh alot, I find it sorta lack of substance. As in, I find the story somehow is weaker and there isn’t much thing to tell about unlike the previous movie. It was sort of a long travel experience. What is even worst, the two who is suppose to be the baddie in the movie… erm… I find that their existance in the movie can almost be ignored.
I dunno… they just din kick or punch hard enough to leave an impact in the movie. It’s quite strange. But well… looking at scrat running here and there to find his acorn is worthy enough.
