The Weird Magician

the weird magician

Don’t ask me what happen to my little orange. And no… I did not abandon him (yes, it’s a him). Er… I am still in this sketching stage to make the little guy a little more perfect.

So, in the mean time… I was working on this while I had the free time waiting for my colleagues. Yup… there is this weird magician thing popping out from my mind then. So yup… also some work in progress thing. Probably would add some beard on him. Yeah… probably~

Hem… I have a hard time to pick which to turn to life next. So what do you say? Help me make a pick.

Powdered Snow

Remioromen - Konayuki

I have recently been following this 1 Liter of Tears (1リットルの涙) show. Ya, I find the main actress kinda cute :). It’s really a sad show. Hemm… which brings me to this song. Remioromen (レミオロメン) sang this song, titled Konayuki (粉雪). Never actually know what it means. But it does sound sad and mellow.

After knowing what it means… I wish it snowed over here. Yup, I hope it can make my heart white… enfold my problems and return it to the sky.

« Listen and sing along~

Ul-isthmus Dinner

Ul-isthmus Dinner

The August babies were born and the celebration has to go on. This time around, Brian was incharge with the planning and invitation. He is well known for being one of the best host. Most of the research done on where to eat… and better still… even list down where you should park and it’s hourly rates.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

Ah… it’s really wonderful when you could just get around with friends… eat and dine… chit chat once in a while. Yup, this time around… Shirley and Jerry is our main casts :)

Most of us root for Isthmus from the list given. So yes… here it is. Isthmus is really beautiful~ At least I think they really put some thought in to their interior deco.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

It has been said that they serve good food, but well… I guess one will really have to try it out to know what is best.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

We ordered the famous Lotus Blue Dumpling (RM15) to share. Well… I must say they really do look beautiful. So beautiful I barely had the heart to eat it. I think it’s really a piece of art that speaks by itself. Not to mention it being tasty.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

Everyone then ordered something different to share around. Me and Shirley ordered the Honey Lamb Cutlets (RM45) which was cooked to perfection. Yes… the taste is perfect…. the mustard and the sauce… Oooo… la la~ I am drooling while typing this now.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

Caryn ordered the Tempura Tiger Prawns which comes with rice. I must say… the prawns are huge!!! I think it’s really worth every single cent paid for the food.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

Brian ordered their famous Dim Kum Duck (RM38)… which I would say is their house specialty. Although I never get to taste it, I could smell it from far. I must say…. the aroma is enough to make you go crazy for duck.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

Gigi on the other hand ordered the Poussin Ayam Sioh (RM22). Hem… I personally think it sounded a little too weird. Okay, probably a little too local. But I must say, it’s presentation prove me wrong.

Ul-isthmus Dinner

The birthday boy (Jerry) ordered a big fat juicy steak~ Must I say… I really wanted to steal his dish… since it looks really yummie and… er… yummy?

Okay… I must really say the food taste great but it was served in a slow manner. Yes, I guess the whole idea of it is for us to really have some “deep conversations”.

Project Bling

passion - project bling

What shall I do with my old shoe? Yippie, I manage to bling them up. A normal white sport shoe and enhance it with some bling bling jewel stickers.

Well, no doubt I like my shoe being white. But a little bling bling won’t hurt. Hehe… wonder how long can the bling bling last. Hehe… guess I shall try my new bling shoe this weekend when I go out.

Shift of Priority

I need to shift~

I have been pretty much stressed about life. About everything that has been going on around me. Many things have been going on in this short 3 months. From a troublesome month to a holiday mood and now a stressful month. And I practically find things hard to coup up with.

Sigh… I guess I grew too old to handle everything. And the believe I can do everything and anything fades away day by day. I chit chat with a friend the other day and that particular friend makes me notice my priorities in life isn’t exactly in line with what I thought it would be.  It is really scary to know I stray away from my focus.

Yes, the talk was about my passion and what I target to achieve this year and what I have done so far. I really slack out on my design passion. As most of the time, I spent on work and montaging pictures for blogs.

So yeah, no more backdated stuff, no more long winded post, no more montages. Hemm… it’s gonna be more of an arty farty blog with things that I like. Hehe… yes, I need to draw more, sketch more… paint more. No worries, I will still share goodies with everyone like my movie review (which I have been slacking as well), musics, travel reviews.

So yeah… I need to stay focus! No worries, you will still see my poser face around. Poser habit dies hard!

Death Toys

Death Toys :)

There are times, there are toys that is worth dying for. And this is one of those that I felt worth dying for. To begin with, I love the show, the manga and the anime. They did come out with the 12 inch figure. But the fact that it’s too huge and they try too hard to make it look like the real thing.

I most prefer something small and cute. Yes, keyword: CUTE. I am seriously glad that they really decided to come out with this 10cm cute version of the toys. So far, I have detected this 4 (Ryuk, Light, Misa and L).

There are part of me that wish this is the only four in the set cause this is gonna cause me a bomb to collect all. But part of me wish for Rem and Jealous to be produced as well. Not forgetting Watari as well.

So far, only Ryuk and Light was released. Planning to get it this two on Friday. Am praying hard it isn’t sold off by then. Hem… awwww… I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

VEL Alert!

Photo Me!

I am stressed. I am tired and no matter how much I sleep.. I still feel tired. I felt like I have not slept for ages. I practically have no mood for everything. I have no mood to watch movie… which obviously I skipped lots of it.

I am too tired to even shop. I know… it probably doesn’t sounds like a big problem for most people. But me… and with MEGA SALE around… and I didn’t shop much… that means something is super duper wrong.

Sigh… but well, at least I am psycho enough to take my own silly expressions. That means I still is struggling to de-stress myself. So yes… I love my handphone camera!

Durian or Merlion?
Durian or Merlion?
Durian or Merlion?
Durian or Merlion?
Durian or Merlion?
Durian or Merlion?
Durian or Merlion?

Backdated post. Actual event took place on 16 - 18 December 2006.

It has been some time since I last visited Singapore. In my honest opinion, it didn’t really change much from the last time I went visiting… and that would be like 3 - 4 years ago. This time, I decided to follow my parents down and see the Christmas light up.

I remember when I was young, the light up was really beautiful. Everywhere looks as if bulbs are on cheap sale. Santa Claus popping out from anywhere and everywhere, people with those santa hats giving out candies. Oh.. how I love Christmas. So yes, my parents and their friends have been inviting me to visit them for a long time. So here I go.

The first day was a tiring day. We woke up and my dad drove us all to Johor Bahru to meet up his friends. There we had lunch while waiting for my parent’s godson, Wilson to come pick us up. Yeah, driving in Singapore is a hassle. Hence, dad is not driving.

The moment we reach Singapore and unload our luggage, we rested and had a long chit chat. Yup, my dad has lots of catching up to do with his friends. As for me, I sit there… and just listen to what they have to chat about :).

We then went out for dinner at a nearby place. I seriously have no idea where it was. All I know is the place is at some flat nearby. Seriously, flat everywhere looks identical. I guess I will seriously get lost if I ever wander around. Dinner was heavenly, I tried something new. This is the first time I tried frog meat cooked with Brand’s essence of chicken. It tasted really good and the taste sorta blends in very well together!

Later on, we went went sight seeing in Orchard Road. We just drive pass it and headed to  Woodlands as we know day 02 would be a full shopping day in Orchard. While driving pass Orchard, I was disappointed. Badly disappointed. It used to be a busy street full of lights and beautiful decorations… now, sigh… honestly, even the decorations in KL looks better than that! Bah… probably I am too tired, I need to sleep! I wonder why I feel so sleepy.

For the second day, it was purely shopping day. Orchard road here I come. My parents made arrangement to meet more friends. Ah… and best of all, we went to a Korean Restaurant. I sorta think the adults over ordered, then again… I am pretty much happy coz I get to try a little of everything. From Kimchi Soup to Bulgogi to Bibimbap to loads and loads of Kimchi and pancakes. Burp~ Nothing beats eating all of those in one go.

The shopping spree begins… but nothing seems to catch my attention. I somewhat felt what they had is similar to what we had… of course more expensive due to the currency exchange. The fact that I am broke also explains everything. Yeah, that is why tagging along parents for trips like this are good. ;)

Dinner was great. This time, we manage to try some traditional chinese food. Er… according to my dad’s friend, the owner of the restaurant came from China. So… we get to try something cool. I don’t know what they call that… it’s some dough being cooked with vege and meat. It’s a little sticky but nice… and the dumplings. Slurp~ My dad’s godson love it so much. We had to re-order that. Yummy~

Day three was the best part! I get to see the big durian. Okay I mean the Esplanade. Hehe… not to mention, I manage to visit the Merlion Park. Ah… I love the look and the texture of the Merlion. But I still wonder how a Mermaid and the Lion merge together? We spend loads of time taking pictures there and my dad spend loads of time figuring out which building is which. Not to mention he have been telling me histories and stuff about Singapore (yeah, long long time ago… my dad used to work in Singapore. Well, I probably would have been a PR in Singapore… if they allowed my dad to buy a house there back then).

So yeah… DURIAN~~~~~~ I saw 2 big DURIAN. Hehe… It really looks beautiful. I still can never imagine how a fruit can give such wonderful inspiration to the designers. Despite the disappointment I had with the Christmas light up, the Esplanade visit sorta cheer me up.

Did I not mention, it rained non-stop while I was in Singapore? And I guess everyone from Malaysia would remember the massive flood in Johor. Yes, I got stuck in the jam for 8 hours from Singapore to come back to Johor Bahru. A trip that normally only takes 40 mins, took me 8 hours. Not forgetting to add another 3 hours or more to reach PD. So yes, a good half day gone. My butt is aching!

Sigh… so yes, this hasn’t been one of my joyful trip. I hope I will have better luck the next time I visit Singapore.

How can I forget?

How can I forget?

Okay, I should jump up and celebrate again… coz it’s been a while since my cousin tagged me. Come to think about it… I still owe Simple American a tag. A long lost one. I gotta go look in to it before he thinks I forgets about it.

Being a curious aka kepoh cousin, Nicole just wants to know everything about me. It’s really kinda hard, since I gotta do the tag and yet not diclose so much info about everything. The story about my 10 most unforgettable moments is about to begin.

How can I forget?

Andy, love you a thousand year

You know I would take any and every chance I have to promote Andy Lau, so  here we go. Okay… as a big fan, I kinda see myself as not such a big fan. I don’t really go to any promotional activity. I guess in my entire years of liking Andy Lau, I never met him before until I went to his 2005 Vision Tour concert. What makes things more unforgettable was the concert was a day before my birthday. Ah… that makes all the difference. Not to mention… the ending part around 11.50 with all the fireworks. It really gives me this really cool birthday feel~

Oh… yes, that is why I adore him so so so so so much. Read my full review, click here.

How can I forget?
I recall the incident happened during my college days. I was on my way to klcc in the LRT. When suddenly some guy came up to me directions. He was suppose to stop 2 stations before I stop. While on my way, I felt that strange feel one have like someone is staring at me. When I turn over, I saw the guy just now staring at me. Later on, I look elsewhere. When the stop that he initially wanted to get down arrive, he didn’t get down the LRT. I started to get worried. When I arrive in the KLCC stop, I tot everything would be fine after I jump out of the train. My heart starts to beat faster when I notice he jump out of the train as well. He then suddenly walk up to me and stop me and told me he wanted to be a friend. I tried to ignore him and walk off but he kept following me and keep talking to me and says he wants to be my friend and stuff. I was totally freaked out.. I didn’t know what to do and  just walk to the place with the most people and called my friend to check if they have arrived. Haha… I guess I am pretty much lucky. The guy saw me going to the busy place and was too scared to walk up to me and left shortly after that. Phew~

How can I forget?
Right, someone wrote me a love letter. No, it’s not my very first love letter that is unforgettable. Haha… in fact it happened quite recently and it so happened to be the last love letter I got. I mean, seriously after e-mail was introduced and widely used… I am pretty much surprise people do still write letters. Okay… what makes it unforgettable? Coz the guy scared the hell out of me. It was like a 6 - 8 piece of A4 paper folded up and placed in this envelope… which makes the whole letter super thick! What sort of surprises me is he slip it under my house door when I was about to open the door to go out. Now that I come to think of it, I wonder how the guy slip the letter under the door since the gap isn’t that big after all.

How can I forget?
Leaving on a jetplane

It’s really hard to forget how I paid for my very first trip. Yup, my very first Bangkok trip with Jimbo. Haha… it was really fun. I enjoyed it very much. Well, of course the saving part takes ages and after the trip, I do felt a little upset. I mean, it really makes me feel happy moments don’t last that long. Not to mention, I will have to save for like a year only to finish using all that I save in 4 days time. Hemmm… Life is so mean :( But well, I guess that is what makes holiday valueable.

Read my full review, Day 01, Day 02, Day 03, Day 04

How can I forget?
I seriously had a big big birthday party. Okay… not really, just I felt I almost travel quite a lot of place just to celebrate my birthday. My KL friends celebrated my birthday for me at some mamak, then I celebrated birthday with my MMU friends, then of course I did a couple of different celebrations with my online friends. Then head up to Penang for yet another birthday treat, continue to stop in Ipoh and then landed myself on Malacca. No kidding… I have sorta like a 2 week birthday party celebration. Haha… talk about being a busy girl back then. Yup, compare to now… I actually party way way way way way way way lesser. Ah… signs of me being old!

How can I forget?
V.V.I.P on the go
V.V.I.P on the go

I could still remember how we were all so happy and we still are :). We all decided to go to Malacca. Jon would have to prepare the full itenary and bring us all to eat 10 different food in one day. We really had a great time. I guess all of us have a hard time forgetting how tasty the Black Pepper Crabs and the scallops were. Aww… now I felt hungry. Not forgetting the singing while driving part. Haha… that is really funny man. But then again, nothing beats how we followed the wrong car. I felt it was the happiest moment and trip the V.V.I.P have ever organized :). Hemm.. so my fellow V.V.I.P, where shall we head to next?

Read my full review, Day 01, Day 02. If you wanna know more about my fellow V.V.I.P’s, click here.

How can I forget?
I used to have a dog. I used to think having a dog would be good. No one will bully me. If they do, I’ll ask my dog to bite them! Really, that’s what that cross my mind at that point of time. Why I think so? My neighbour have this huge dog that scares me most of the time. I remember my parents went a take 2 stray puppies back home. Since I want my dog to go bite someone else, a macho name is important. Hence, the name Stoney was given to him. Actually my mum came up with the name. I wonder why~ I am afraid of dogs but I could still remember playing with them, running around while looking at how the get tanggled in their white cloth. As they grew older and bigger, I never did play with Stoney. Why? Coz I scared he will bite me before he even bite anyone else. Stoney is a smart dog, I would say he is way too smart to handle. He doesn’t eat any food my mum cook, so he is thin enough to slide thru the gate, go out and play in the middle of the night… go pee and shit at my neighbour’s house. Not to mention, Stoney bite their shoes. Things went really out of control as he does it like every night. Hence, my parents decided to send Stoney away.

How can I forget?
I could still remember the fact that I finally have my own domain name. I hesitated for a long while. Should I, Should I not? Getting a personal domain just to host my own blog is a little waste of money. That is what everyone tells me. They all say blogspot or xanga can host blog… and best of all, it’s FREE. No offence to anyone, but I felt there are too much restrictions. No to mention it’s really hard for me to place in my own design and potray it out. Hence, on 19th June 2005http://www.velverse.com was born. I finally could blog and place anything, anywhere I like! Thank god!

How can I forget?
Ah… my camera. Finally I have my own camera :). Well, it’s suppose to be a happy thing isn’t it… not to mention it was a gift. But well, I weren’t exactly that happy tho. It’s actually a farewell gift I got from my previous boss. I was shocked at the first place when presented with the gift. I went speechless… totally speechless. The gift and the things being said to me by my boss… sigh, I really wanna cry~ Yeah… I will always remember that moment :)

How can I forget?
Yes, for the very first time, I really felt this is really a hard TAG to do. It takes up 2 days for me to think of what to write. What to disclose what not too. No kidding… well, many of the stuffs are rather secretive, even my immediate family members didn’t know… many, not even a single soul in the world know. So, I hereby conclude my 10 most unforgettable moments.

Okay… I’m done, this is hard. I doubt I am in the mood to tag anyone. My brain can’t really function well now… now that I finish this so hard to do TAG. Okay cuz… dun say I no sayang you! See… I squeeze my brain cells just to finish this up!
