T.G.I.Father’s Day. |
 |

Okay… back to my long long time ago post when Nicole just came back to Malaysia for a visit. After the filling Kim Gary lunch, we all went shopping. Shop… show and more shop. Yes, I gotta tempt Nicole into buying some stuffs. Yes, she complains she can’t get anything nice back in Australia. As for me, I never believe in there is nothing nice to shop for… the only problem I face… MONEY and at times the companion.
I personally didn’t get anything cause I am saving up my money to go shop like a mad woman in Bangkok and Hong Kong. So yes, everything is just in K.I.V mode.

Besides getting some capsule toys and a cute phone dangling. I think I didn’t really get anything. Since everyone is saving their money to shop overseas… we decided to just sit down, relax… have some coffee/tea and just enjoy the environment.
Ah.. it’s really quite a nice family photo… better still if my parents is looking at the camera. See, I told you they both know what each other is thinking.

So… right after a nice tea break and more window shopping, we head down to T.G.I Friday’s to celebrate Father’s Day. Yup, we made some advance booking so that no crap things will happen (e.g. they are fully booked, only smoking areas available or maybe the you will have to wait 1 hour to dine).

Hehe…. awwww… my dad is just so cute. I think he is happy that we remembered to celebrate Father’s Day with him. I think if we did not… hell breaks loose. So… we then scroll thru their menu and had a hard time thinking what we all want to eat. Since we all just had tea break not long ago, we opt to share. Yes, now the phrase “sharing means caring” finally fits appropriately.

Me and Nicole decided to go for something meaty (er… yes, my cuz is a carnivore). I picked the Garlic Lamb Chops (RM42.90). Which is quite yummy. I think it was a little over cooked… yes… just a little~ I think it would be better if it’s served with a little more sauce too. Slurp~ I like garlic sauce!!! And need I say, I need to eat up all the greens

My dad ordered the Jack Daniel’s Grilled Chicken (RM29.90). My dad totally loved it. Especially it’s sauce. He kept saying it’s very filling but yet, he manage to finish it So that’s how good it is. But then… his little princess (me) find the sauce a little too sweet. So yes, I finally know why they throw in a slice of grilled pineapple to the dish… coz it really compliment the sweet taste.

I once again proved my parent’s think alike. So yes, my mum ordered the Jack Daniel’s Grilled Salmon (RM39.90). See… they both are lovey dovey huh? Compared both Salmon and Chicken, I think the Jack Daniel sauce goes along better with the Chicken. Well, then again… it’s my personal preferences. My parents seems to think otherwise.

My sister eats lesser than I expect her to. Er… yeah, she normally eat quite a lot but today… she told us she is too full. So we ordered a Three For All (RM33.90) so that everyone could share. I always love this sorta starters. You have everything in one. This dish comes with Spicy Buffalo Wings, Loaded Potato Skin and Fried Mozzarella served with Sour Cream with Spring Onions, Bleu Cheese Dressing and Marinara Sauce. So there isn’t much hassle to think of what everyone wants. Among all… I loved the Fried Mozzarella the most. YUMMY~

Besides sharing the Three For All, my sister only grab the Tomato Basil Soup (RM11.50). Now, this really thick soup is really cool. It’s really as thick as some pasta sauce. So yes, it’s really rich. Slurp… now typing this makes me really hungry.
Everyone left T.G.I.F a happily. Yeah… everyone went home rubbing our tummy and burping. Haha… then again… not long after we reach home, we stuff some Krispy Kreme into our tummies. Which makes me wonder… how FULL is FULL?

The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007 |
 |

Okay… I went to Jacky Cheung’s concert last 2 week ago. I wasn’t really a huge fans. Not as much as I like Andy Lau. So yes, do not expect an as detailed review from me. And no, I don’t dislike Jacky… just I love Andy way more.
It was my first time going to Jacky Cheung’s concert. And sad to say, I reach just in time for the concert to start. If I haven’t run like a crazy woman… I think I would have missed the opening of “The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 2007″ concert.
Jacky kicked off his concert with his famous Ngoi Foh Fah/爱火花 (loosely translated as Love Fireworks) A really good choice to open the concert with some fast beat song. Yes, I still remember the gold colour tuxedo he is wearing. Lovely~ He then continue on with a few numbers of songs which I think I have never heard of before (yes, I really gotta admit, I ain’t a hardcore fan). I could remember a scene in the concert whereby two rocket like fireworks hit on the stage and then Jacky continue to sing his song. Aw… I really think that scene is really really awesome!
Jacky sang really loads of his gold ballads which includes Yi Qian Ge Shang Xin De Li You/一千个伤心的理由 (loosely translated as 1000 Reasons to be Sad), Yi Lu Xiang You Ni/一路上有你 (loosely translated as You Are There All Along), Zhi Seong Yat Sang Gan Nei Jau/只想一生跟你走 (loosely translated as Just Want To Runaway With You Forever).
Righter after that, Jacky changed into a new outfit and started to interact with the audience. He started to tell story about himself. Singing a song after each short description about his life. It’s really funny how he talks about himself. How his family have more female members. Well of course, he stays with his mum, grandma and aunties while his dad and brother is a sailor. Which explains how he only notice he is a boy when he is 3 years old (when his dad came back for a short break).
He then sang a song he wrote for his elder daughter. Yup, he promised to write and sing a song for a daughter… which was delayed for 4 years. Yeah… Yao Yao/摇摇 (loosely translated as Swing) is really a lovely song. Jacky jokingly said, if one have sleeping problem… this song is the best remedy. Play it for 4 - 5 times and one will surely fall soundly asleep.
Jacky claims that he knows woman very well… now that he have grown up with many. Even now… he is staying with his wife and 2 daughters. Talk about woman’s luck! He jokingly mentioned that he knows how dangerous it is to write a song for the daughter and not write one for the wife. So, right after producing that song, he quickly write a song for his wife. Gong Nei Ji/讲你知 (loosely translated as Tell You). I really like this song. It is really catchy and romantic. I think it’s the second time I heard this song and I can really say… the melody sticks to my head.
He also sing a song, Gei Peng You/给朋友 (loosely translated as For Friends) to remember the year 2003… whereby many artist passed away. He hasn’t exactly wrote any song for his youngest daughter. He say he will write one for her when she requested it in like 3 years time. So, he picked Zai Ni Shen Bian/在你身边 (loosely translated as By Your Side) as a temporary song dedicated to her youngest daughter until he composes one.
Right after that… Jacky jump in to the next segment of the concert. The part where he will sing some song from other artist and then continue on with the best of Jacky Cheung’s collection. I think he really did well performing Emil Chau’s Ming Tian Wo Yao Jia Gei Ni Le/明天我要嫁给你了 (loosely translated as I Will Marry You Tomorrow) , Stephanie Sun’s Tian Hei Hei/天黑黑 (loosely translated as The Sky Is Dark) and Jeff Chang’s Ai Ru Chao Sui/爱如潮水 (loosely translated as Love Is Like A Tide).
He then start to amaze the crowd with his best songs like Mui Tin Ngoi Nei Doh Yat Seh/每天爱你多一些 (loosely translated as Love You More Each Day), Wen Bie/吻别 (loosely translated as Kiss Goodbye) and Mong Gei Ta/忘记他 (loosely translated as Forget Him/Her).
The most anticipated section from this concert would be this. A short introduction/recap of his famous theater Snow Wolf Lake/雪狼湖 mixed with Perhaps Love/如果爱. He really gave a super performance perfoming numerous tracks. But those that I really know of is Ai Shi Yung Heng/爱是永恒 (loosely translated as Love Is Forever), Ni Shi Ai Wo De/你是爱我的 (loosely translated as You Love Me) and the famous Ru Guo Ai/如果爱 (loosely translated as Perhaps Love).
Jacky then introduce the cast members and gives his ending bow. The crowd wants more and cheered for more. The view of the energetic crowd is simply superb. When suddenly you heard a loud heartbeat sound… the lighting on the stage started to react.
Jacky once again appear on the stage and started to sing Wo Zhen De Shou Sang Le/我真的受伤了 (loosely translated as I Really Got Hurt) followed by songs like Wo Deng Dao Hua Er Ye Xie Le/我等到花儿也谢了 (loosely translated as I Wait Till The Flower Withered), Xin Ru Dao Ge/心如刀割 (loosely translated as Heart Is Like A Knife Cut), Qing Shu/情书 (loosely translated as Love Letter). Jacky ended his concert with Zhu Fu/祝福(loosely translated as Wish).
I personally think Jacky is really the leader in terms of his singing ability among the “Four Heavenly Kings” (yes, much better than Andy Lau). He really sings well, and this make his 3 hours 15 mins concert very worthwhile despite the fact that I think his stage was rather simple. How do I exactly know it is more than 3 hours? Jacky change his cloths every 30 - 35 mins. So yes, he changed 6 pairs of cloths
On the other hand, I really don’t think he fully utilize his stage. There were stairs on his stage. He didn’t really go much to the top and I don’t really understand why. Coz people like me who sit rather back can hardly see him. He only appear on the top for 3 times. Once during the opening, once during the theater segment and once during his last song. He spent more time going to the right wing of his stage compare to the left side. Which of course I couldn’t complain much… coz my seatings is on the right. YIPPIE~
I love how he intro his crew members, backup singers, band members to everyone. I really love it. He really make sure the audience know everyone of them. I like how me appreciate their effort and hard work. One can really feel it.
Then again, I left the stadium a happy audience coz he sang both my favourite song. The hope of him singing Wo Zhen De Shou Sang Le and Xin Ru Dao Ge is what make me go watch his concert. And yes!!!! He did perform both the song. Although he started to lost his voice a little after his theater segment… I still think he did a great job. Go JACKY!! Go JACKY!!
p/s - My pictures didn’t really do justice to the concert or his performance. What to do… it’s a rainy day andd I am not ready to sacrifice my camera. Hence I left my camera at home and snap all this picture with my camera phone. Then again, concert is always best experience LIVE.

Little Family Dinner |
 |
Ah… my backdated post jump back to action. Yup… pretend time stopped in June. Yeah… whereby Nicole is still in town. She woke up to a shopping spree day at The Curve. Whereby we decided to bring Nicole to shop at the flee market, and of course celebrate Father’s Day with my dad.

Since we decided to go for western food for dinner, I choose to have lunch at Kim Gary. The tea here never fails me. And I must say, I always love how they serve some of their specialty drinks in cute jar like mugs.

I guess my parents both know what each other is thinking. They never really discussed what they want. They seems to order something different but end up they look and taste pretty similar except for the fact one have brocolli and one has none. My dad ordered the Honey Baked Spare Rib while my mum ordered the Shanghai Style Honey Spare Rib with Vegetables. So yes… make a note.. Shanghai or not Shanghai style… they are actually the same thing.

As for me… I crave for beef. I want beef… MORE BEEF! So yes… I go for the Baked Rice with Slice Beef in Twin Sauce. Yup, I hated to make choice between the finest. So, nothing better than 2 in 1 rite? *burp*

Nicole ordered what everyone agrees to be… Kim Gary’s specialty. Their Baked Pork Chop Rice with Cheese. It’s really very tasty. Er… okay… filling and cheesy too. Then again… it’s always addictive especially when it’s served hot.

This is pretty much new in Kim Gary. Breaking the tradition of serving Hong Kong Style dishes, they now introdue this Korean Style Dish. I don’t really remember what this dish is called but well, it’s on a seperate menu. Hence, one can really tell. It’s really our local version of Bibimbap.
Note: It’s a set lunch thing and it comes with soup (cup) and a drink.

Nicole dive herself to more food. French Toast it is. I can say… Kim Gary really do serve one of the best French Tost in town. Somehow, I seems to find that the branch in Sungei Wang seems to server better French Toast than this branch. Ooo… butter…. peanut butter….. HOOOOOOOoooNey~ *drool*

Toy Travel with Toy Capsules |
 |

I never want to grow up so… yes, I love toys. I don’t really like fury toys. Probably coz my nose just couldn’t take it.
I love capsule toys. I love the fact that they are cute. Er… okay not all of them are cute but I’ve got loads to choose from. Better still, the anticipation and hoping to get the one I really like from so many capsule toys is just fun.
I really do find capsule toys are rather addictive. But I can assure you… getting capsule toys in Hong Kong is way more fun than in Malaysia. Not to mention it is more expensive to get capsule toys here.
Here are something I got in KL…

Life is like a box of chocolate.. you never know what you gonna get (it applies to the toy capsules too).

Krispy Kreme Kraze |
 |

Holmer Simpson likes it. Jimbo have been talking about it. Nicole is all set to promote it. So yes, I should give it a try. I have always been wondering what is thie Krisy Kreme craze is all about.

No… you can’t actually get Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in Malaysia. Er… and I wonder why. So… how exactly I get to try them? Yeay… my sweet cousin is sweet enough to buy and delivers it personally to my doorstep when she came back for a visit… er… 3 months ago. (Yeah… I know, backdated. But then… I must really appreciate her effort, right?)

So yeay… I’ve got a box of 6 Original Glazed doughnuts. I like the taste of it being not too sweet and ya… it does look shiny~

Yeay… A box of assorted doughnuts to try out too. See how my cuz is spoiling me with choices. Hemm… I wonder how many kg I would gain from all this doughnuts.
I think the doughnuts are pretty much standard, then again maybe it’s not served warm. I wouldn’t say it’s bad but for sure I wouldn’t go Goo Goo Ga Ga over it.
So yeah, look out for more backdated post. Er… well, it is a must do post since my cousin demand I write about her visit when she came back. And yes… by popular demand… the Bangkok/Hong Kong/Macau trip. I know… it might make you feel a little sleepy~

The nostalgic dinner |
 |
One mysterious weekend, my sister dated me for dinner. Well according to her, she have something she wanted to tell me. Then again, to date… she hasn’t tell me anything.

My sister’s bf, Jason suggested we go Coliseum Cafe since me and him mum are first-timers to the place. Apparently the place was there for around 80 years. Amazing! 80 years and I have never heard of it before. Not to mention dine there.

As we entered the cafe section, it really brings me back to my good old days. I can really say this place really have a lot of history value in it. From the deco to the settings. Seriously, I wonder why someone would want to tear down this place in the first place.
On the other side the dining area was the bar. Even the bar is really nostalgic. Hemm… I think someday, someone should make a movie at this place.

There are tables old fashionied sofas for people to chit chat while having a drink

Even our famous comic artist LAT comes down here often. Yup, he drew a few comic strip for this place and it was nicely framed and hanged on the wall. Seriously, it’s been quite an attraction here.

After running around and taking pictures, I went back to our table and started to order my dinner. Well, the place was rather packed. Well, the ambience is quite enough to cover the waiting part. It took quite a while for someone to get our order. Everything else after that was pretty alright.

It seems like this place is rather famous for it’s Sizzling stuff. No worries, they do provide you this little white apron to avoid you from staining your precious top. Awww… we get to be big babies!

Jason’s mum ordered the Grilled New Zealand Lamb Chop (RM20.90). I think the portion was quite huge. Woo la la… meaty with loads of mixed vege. I am really glad they didn’t exactly overcook the lamb.
Supposedly, we get to choose from black pepper sauce, mushroom sauce, garlic sauce or brown sauce for most of the western dishes. But… then I somehow think no longer have black pepper/mushroom/garlic sauce. Hence… brown sauce seems to be their standard sauce. So, don’t bother go chasing after the waiters and tell them what sauce you want.

I ordered the Sizzling Steaklets In Fried Onion (RM35.90). Well, initially I orded this dish coz I love the Fried Onion smell… but looking at how it turned out, I was rather disappointed. First of all… it doesn’t have any Fried Onion on it… and the steaklets have no onion taste to it.
When we asked the waiter… he told us, there is no fried onion coz they are not using garlic sauce. Which makes me wonder… what is the relation between GARLIC sauce and fried ONION. Then again, that is not the point. The point is, he should tell me… there will be NO FRIED ONIONS on my sizzling steaklets in fried onion if I don’t choose GARLIC sauce.
So yes… back to how it taste like… well, it seriously tasted like a normal steak. It’s not bad… but there’s nothing to shout about here.

Jason ordered the Sizzling New Zealand Rib Eye (RM35.90). Hemm… I didn’t actually try it but it should really taste the same, except for the meat texture part. Standard sauce, both cooked on a hot plate garnished with tomatoes. Hemmm… you tell me~

My sister seems to enjoy her Sizzling New Zealand Lamb Chop (RM30.90). Yeah, looking at her portion… the food on her plate do seems more tempting and delicious. I guess it would taste better if they pass me some mint sauce.

Oh yeah, their side dish comes in a rather cute plate. The plate is devided into 2 sections. One side for wedges, the other part would be veges cooked in some cream sauce. The portion of the side dished served in the middle of the table are for 3 person. So yes, burp… I wanna rub my tummy now.

We supposedly ordered Inche Kabin (RM15.90) for starters. But to my surprise, this dish appear only after I finish my main course. Inche Kabin is actually Hainanese Fried Chicken. I think this dish is rather standard. Nothing much to impress. Inche Kabin is served with this plate of sauce with some raw onion slices in it.
The sauce taste like Lea Perrins sauce with some onion taste to it. Hemm.. so yes, at least I get to have some onions… just it seems to appear on a different dish.

How can we leave the place without trying any dessert. Yup, we were all rather full so we just ordered one thing to share. I didn’t exactly remember what it was called… but it sounded something like Chocolate & Banana Spring Roll with Ice Cream (RM7.90).
It was rather funny… my steaklets in fried onion have no fried onion. The chocolate & banana spring roll have banana but no chocolate. Instead we all tasted strong caramel taste. I guessed it wasn’t served with chocolate ice cream, so they don’t have chocolate taste.

White Dinner |
 |
I pass by this particular restaurant every single day. I couldn’t really help it since it’s on my way to work. I find it really have this modern and sleek feel. Simple yet beautiful setting. So yes, finally I had the chance to sit down and dine at this restaurant, Bianco.

Yeay… did I not mention, my colleague.. Ramesh is buying us dinner?
Well, what can I say… Ramesh is just one lucky guy eh. Italian dinner with 2 cute female colleagues… hahaha.

Bianco is really a quiet place. I personally quite like the spacious outdoor environment thingy. Well, what can I say… a good cup of Iced Latte does help.

Maggie ordered some Mushroom Pizza. Most of the pizza served here comes in thin crust. I had a slice but it is really yummy. Loads of mushroom… cheeseeeeeeeee e e… ooo la la~

Ravioli Bianco is one of Bianco’s signature dish. I always loved Ravioli as I felt it is Italian version of “wanton”. When I saw the description on the menu stated “stuffed with minced chicken and mushroom”… yes mushroom and best of all.. topped with MORE MUSHROOM… I know I just couldn’t resist the temptations.
Best of all… what I like most is, unlike many places… the ravioli is served warm and fresh. Mmm… I want more mushroom~

Ramesh ordered Fettucine Cabonara. Creamy dish with loads of bacon and baby asparagus. I never know baby asparagus complimented the dish so well. It’s a little crunchy and gives an extra texture next to the crispy bacon. I think everything blends in just so well. Really~

Too bad Oswald had to go for some BBQ party. Sorry Os, you don’t know what you miss out~
Then again… this place is located way too near to my office… we can just go there any other time.

Fallen Dreams |
 |
I think it has been a while since I work up this project crossroad thing. Yup, this time I bring it up one level. I take the initiative to collaborate with simple american to come out with a visual and copy graphic stuff. Yup… this time along, I was inspired by the S.E.S - Dreams Come True song. I totally love this song. I remeber the first time I heard of it was in 1999 when I first study in Cyberjaya. It sounded so nice and I recently heard this song again and it really sparks me up. I guess it’s one of the best K-pop I’ve ever heard.Hence, I decided to go with the theme “dream”.
Right, unlike previous crossroad which features a different version of what everyone thinks about a particular thing, this time… we try to work on a same thing to get things moving together.
So yes, this time I worked using brushes by Jason Gaylor which really help me create the right mood and yes… of course simple american’s beautiful words. Hope I really have the chance to do such wonderful stuff again.

So… are you awaken? Here is what simple american actually wrote… I hope I did get what SA means… coz I once recall I dream of me falling down with loads of bubbles around me. Loads of it.. but nothing can hold my weight and all the bubbles burst… and I keep falling and after a long fall, I ended up laying on a sunflower. So yeah, that sorta explains why I love sunflower *wink*. Then again… of course this is a more colourful version of what I dreamt.

Click on the banner go link to the project crossroad gallery.
