Weee… kaleidoscope!!! I always wanted one, since young. I don’t know why, but I think it is a damn cool thing to have, and I am so happy they did adapt the effect to Speed Racer. I love their wild and vibrant colours. Let’s just say this movie is super cool! I must say, it interest me and non-stop attacts me with either it’s plots or the car racing. Not to mention… it’s RAIN-ing in the movie!

Wow! wow! wow! If kung fu movies were ment to wow the westerners, consider superhero movies like this to wow me *jaws dropped*. I totally love the show… even though I barely know Iron Man. To be honest, I’ve only like heard of this superhero being mentioned like 10 times and glance thru the visual for maybe twice. But yes, I love how they make the movie. Keep the storyline tight and best of all, it’s not one of those movie that Marvel just make without any effort. Yes, I must say… it is one of the best superhero movie to date.

It’s been a while since I watch any romantic comedy from Ashton Kutcher. Not to mention, this time around… he is being partnered with Cameron Diaz. I like how this movie potrays what normally happens to people who get hooked up and married in Vegas. With loads of booze, casino and chapels. No wonder one can just get married in a blink of an eye. But what happens the next day? Worst is when your other half just strike the jackpot at the point you decided to call it a quit. Awww… this movie really just made my day… but I must say, Cameron definately could use loads of skincare.

Together with Forbidden Kingdom, this movie sink to the bottom of the list. First of all, it isn’t exactly a ghost horror movie. Yes, I understand that it is an urban legend… but most of the storyline was edited and it is way different from the original one. I don’t actually mind the difference, but this story… till today, I still can’t figure why would she have to run around killing childrens. Not to mention, she did not go around scaring kids with her famous “Am I beautiful?” question. Well, this Slit-Mouthed woman isn’t exactly looking for a revenge. Isn’t exactly killing for a reason. I have no particular idea why a ghost actually hides kids. Some she killed, some she just hurt them badly while some… she just do nothing with them. Looks more like a psycho child kidnapper than a horror movie.

Mmm… dim sum is one of my favourite. First of all… they have loads of variety of food to choose from. I must admit, sometimes I get headahe when the trolly of food keep strolling by and I can’t decide of what I want. So yes, I tend to over order most of the time.
Thank god this time, I know exactly what I’m craving for. Yuppie… shrimp roll, siew mai and loads of fried carrot cake. I seriously never leave a dim sum place without ordering this 3 stuff :).
And after a heavenly breakfast, we went for shopping spree. I love shopping spree (which woman doesn’t?). And no… I don’t normally have a shopping list. But hem… I am trying to pick up that habit. Seriously, I can overspend just by buying groceries cos I tend to buy loads of things that just fits my mood during that shopping time.
Yeay…. I just love shopping 🙂

One of those Fridays when we decided to travel a little further and have a relaxing and nice lunch.
After much thinking, discussion and thinking of options we decided on Wong Kok Char Chan Teng.
I ordered the Bacon Roll (RM9.20) and a glass of Cold Yin Yeong (RM2.90).
Was a tad disappointed with the bacon roll as it doesn’t look exactly as yummy as shown in the menu.
The taste was also just average as I can only taste more of the fish paste and less of the bacon taste.
Maggie ordered the Imperial Soup Rice with Mushroom and Dried Oyster (RM9.30) and White Fungus and Guai Lin Gou (RM5.50) dessert. The dishes look pretty interesting. Maybe I should give the Imperial Soup Rice a go next time.
Deon ordered Nissin Noodles with Luncheon Meat (RM6.30) and Cold Coconut Tea (RM4.20). Every time we dine in any Hong Kong restaurant, he will for sure order Nissin noodles. I find the taste of the Cold Coconut Tea to be a little strange and too weird for my liking.
As for Ramesh, he ordered French Toast (RM4.20) and Bubble Cold Milk Tea (RM4.80), quite a typical Hong Kong restaurant tea time food. I personally think that Kim Gary’s French Toast taste much better in comparison, more moist and buttery.

Nothing better than nice scenery, treasure seeking, romantic comedy and puzzle solving added together. The title practically spills out alot about the movie. Yup, an adventure to seek sunken treasure in the sea. Of course one will also have a good laugh, especially looking at how a BIMBO actually behave. I must say Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey definately have a good chemistry as they both acted really naturally. Love the location and scenes. Okay… maybe I just love how they blend the adventure, puzzle solving, and treasure hunting together of course plus the nice environment.

Hemmm…. how do I exactly put this. THANK GOD someone gave me free tickets… or else… It’s not worth watching at all. Don’t even bother for a DVD/VCD/downloading. Just wait for the TV to show it. I couldn’t believe how Jackie Chan and Jet Li can agree to movie like this. Not to mention Yuen Woh Peng too. Yes, it has all the big names but totally weird. Some script and action just doesn’t make sense. Not to mention they practically mix all the chinese kung fu and style in one and have been fighting on and on for practically no reason. Practically just another movie to wow the westeners with all the asian kung fu.

Movie Title: 怪談 (Kaidan)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (6/10)

Kaidan official site: http://www.kaidan-movie.jp/
Yes, I saw the review about this movie in a magazine. It looks quite interesting as it is one of those horror olden folktales during the Edo era in Japan. I must say the setting and the cinematography was cool and beautiful. I must say it really is a “beautiful” movie. But of course, there are a few scene which is quite disturbing, especially the ending scene. Some might find it a little boring, but I think it is quite okay… but towards the ending… it seems a little strange and doesn’t make sense. Yup, after watching the movie… one might practically wonder… how does the curse actually work in this movie. I gotta thank Ayumi Hamasaki… cause if she doesn’t sing the theme song… I guess I would have given this show a miss.

Okay, one of those show which doesn’t really do much promotions. I must say it has quite a simple storyline. It has this beautiful opening which features the papercut concept. Really is a simple but beautifully done opening. The movie is like a combination of Indiana Jones and Blue Lagoon. I must say, there isn’t exactly any ups and downs in movie. It practically is one of those movie where you just go in… enjoy the story and scenery.

Yeay!! My sister is getting married soon. I helped her out with their wedding invitation card.
And yes, they decided on something more special, a CD version of the invitation card.
We decided on a more western looking cover and RSVP card, while the CD sticker is of them in Chinese traditional wedding costume. Talk about east meets west.
There is also a DVD slide photos, where those who received the CD invitation card can play their wedding photos.
Nice, everything finally came in place.
Congrats, my dear sis. Haha… can’t wait to receive ang pao from you next year 🙂

I went and watch Kaidan yesterday once I discovered they use Ayumi Hamasaki – Fated song in their soundtrack.
No kidding, this is the main reason I watched this movie 😄.
I like the opening of the song, especially the tinkle sounds at the start of the song, and of course the nice meaning to the song after looking at the translated lyrics.
I must say, I really admire her talent in lyrics writing. Seems she wrote quite a lot of her songs, and they all have beautiful meaning to it.
The music video for this song was shot in Hong Kong, featuring Shawn Yue.
Lucky him, to be able to appear in my goddess MV.
The Fated music video is a two part MV, connected from the Glitter music video. The first part of the music video starts with the more upbeat and hopeful Glitter (watch MV here) and ended on a sad note, Fated.
The short movie was a sad love story 😭, showcase the ups and downs in a relationship.
The start of a relationship when everything is a new adventure and full of curiosity, laughter and happiness.
Every single act is watched and warm, which later turns sad especially after the lost. Watch the short movie below:
P.S. – Will review the Kaidan movie in the next post.

Yeay… my sis brought me surprises sometimes. New things to try out once in a while… movies to share.. and this time… she brought me a BOMB!
Yeah, after watching Ho Chiak!, she and Jason went and brought loads of Durian Bomb and pass me a box to share. I must say… it tasted really good. With the crunchy outer layer skin… while loads of durian paste inside. Seriously… it really have this strong durian taste and one can really smell it. Taste deliciously good when served hot. Definately a BOMB!

My idol is back in action, this time taking up the role of Zhao Zhilong based on a famous novel and history. This movie is very much a mixture of “The Warlords” and “A Battle of Wits”. But much to my disappointment, this movie dub most of the voices of the actor/actress (including Andy’s) :(. Worst is when the whole story is lack of climax and action packed. The storyline seems to be on the surface and nothing much in detail and even the character development is bad. But of all, I think Vanness Wu and Maggie Q is definately a miscast for the show. Sigh…

Movie Title: L: Change the World

L: Change the World official site: http://wwws.warnerbros.co.jp/L-movie/
L is back. This time, doing a solo without Light. Yes, “L change the World” is a spin off from Death Note which tells a lot about L and how he uses his last 23 days to solve one more case. I must admit, it is worth watching if you are really into L’s character. If you are looking for a good storyline… this really isn’t one of those as many things doesn’t make sense. This movie really shows of more of L’s soft side. Oh… I love how he tempt the kids with sweet stuffs. Aw… now I gotta get myself some candies.

Movie Title: Heartbreak Kid

Oh boy… it’s one of those comedy that disturbs me. It is a funny show… but somehow Ben Stiller’s character is really a pain in the ass. It is really a love and hate thing. A person gets married only to know their significant other is not what they expected. And of course some cheating and divorce gets in the picture. So yes, if you really am a player… will you actually stop playing once you get married? Or do you continue playing… in a smart way?

Movie Title: Ah Long Pte. Ltd.

Ah Long Pte. Ltd. official site: http://www.mediacorpraintree.com/ahlong/
Yet another movie from Jack Neo… speaking out our local issues with the signature sing-lish. This time around, it’s a movie talking about the Ah Long issue. It is a black comedy that tells out about the Ah Long pros and cons. How they are trying to evolve. Of course movies like this ended with a good ending but it is really funny and best of all, loads of the scenes and locations were shot in KL itself instead of in Singapore. Then again, don’t expect much from the cinematography.

Yet another movie from Singapore. Yup… it’s true. I would have thought it was a Hong Kong production since most of the actors are from Hong Kong. For a local production, I must say I am seriously impressed. The cinematography was amazing… the colours… the mood… the setting and the story. It’s really cool! The twist and turn in the storyline is similar to “Skeleton Key” and it’s really amazing. What can I say… Ekin Cheng and Shawn Yue really nailed it!

Movie Title: The Spiderwick Chronicles
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (8/10)
Year: 2007
The Spiderwick Chronicles official site: http://spiderwick.com/movie/
Fairies… more fairies and I just love fairies. It is really a cool movie with cool CG graphics. Of course it is my cup of tea since most of the fairies and the environment is very fantasy like. A movie that one will definately enjoy, if you love fairies and am into fantasy. But the ending gets a little weird (in my opinion) when Spiderwick holds his daughter’s hand and look as if he is interested in her.

10,000 BC official site: http://www.10000bcmovie.com/
How do I put this… loads of CG. In fact, over-load of CG. Some was created in my opinion for the sake of creating and wow-ing everyone else. Seriously… sometimes too much of something just kills everything. The costumes are a little funny especially the ones with loads of bamboo. I really wonder if the costume designer just ran out of ideas for costume since there were so many tribes. My geography sux but they made Egypt seems to just be located next to the Antartica. Honestly… I think the movie is like a puzzle whereby the director just pick up stuff they like and just place it in.

Another triad movie that tells tale of how a wrong move kills. Every decision made do have a serious consequences. Of course, there comes to this question about truthfulness. Who can you really trust? What leads to betrayal. But what impress me is Wu Jing’s sword fighting skills. So yes… the fatal move is after all a small mistake… to have a child.

Movie Title: Jumper

Jumper official site: http://www.jumperthemovie.com/
It is really a simple power that everyone could just dream of having… jumping and hopping from country to country… anywhere that one could think of. Imagine the amount of money saved from air fares and the hassle of checking in or out from airport. All you have to do is just focus. Of course everything has it’s price to pay. It’s really a cat chase mouse story… but the effects is good and of course Sammuel L. Jackson’s name is enough to bring this movie to jump to another level. Let’s JUMP!
