Me... Meme and Fun Stuffz! My Idol, Andy!

Andy Lau Captured On Canvas

Wow, I’ve finally met someone who loves Andy as much as I do. I’m really thrilled that I’ll get to see him this Saturday!

But I also have these bad thoughts.
What if they don’t let me in?
What if they told me the ticket is fake? (though the chance is pretty slim, as I queued and bought tickets at the official ticket booth).
For the first time, Saturday seems like years away!

Yet those bad thoughts keep popping up. What if they don’t let me in? Or what if they say my ticket’s fake even though that’d be silly, since I grabbed it straight from the official booth after waiting forever in line! For once, Saturday feels like it’ll never get here!

Dear god,
I just want Saturday to arrive so this mental strain ends. Now, back to why I’m blogging this.

While browsing an article online, I came across this sentence: ” It’s not every day that an international artist takes an interest in Hong Kong’s stars. But Paris-based Hungarian painter Anton Molnar is fascinated enough by Andy Lau to make him the subject of two canvases.”

Interesting. You don’t see this every day! I’m pretty sure he’s got awesome taste.

Eat With MeFamily Ever After

Mum’s Best Asam Laksa

If I could only pick one thing my mum makes to eat forever, I’d hands down go for her asam laksa. Seriously, nobody does it better than her and it’s easily at the top of my list! I’ve loved it since I was a kid. I still recall how Mum would cook a huge pot of asam laksa, and we’d end up eating it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner like it was totally normal.

I’m totally obsessed with asam laksa. Seriously, nothing beats my mum’s version. I can’t stand asam laksa with prawn paste. It just messes up the taste for me, though loads of people love it! Lucky for me, my mum agrees, so we’re both on team no prawn paste.

Yummy! I finished two big bowls at lunch and went back for second at dinner. Don’t judge, I helped in preparing the dish. I helped to debone the fish, smash it up, and chop everything else like cucumbers, onions, and a bunch of veggies.

I’m determined to become an expert at preparing asam laksa, aiming to cook it for myself regularly soon. Just watch, I’ll be the next master of this dish!

I’m coming home this weekend, mama!
After hearing Michael Bublé’s “Home”, I suddenly realised how much I want to go back, enjoy quality time with my parents, and get some much-needed rest.

Felt very tired, mentally and physically.
I’m going home. I’m coming home.
Wait for me, I’ll be there.

Christmas Mood

My Christmas Tree
My Christmas Tree

It’s strange. I’m not a Christian, but I still enjoy celebrating Christmas.
I can’t really explain why. I suppose it’s the same for many people. Somehow, it just brings joy and comfort.

Maybe the food influence why I liked it. Maybe the movies that comes out every Christmas makes me loved it. Maybe the colourful decorations makes me like it. Maybe it’s the lights. Ah… just too many maybe’s. Dun care… I manage to wallop this mini christmas tree and put it right next to me! Yes.. I need to be reminded holiday is always around the corner!

Maybe it’s the awesome food, or those holiday movies that drop every Christmas, or just the bright, eye-catching decorations. I really don’t know! Maybe it’s the twinkly lights? Honestly, there’s too much to choose from. But hey, I got myself this cute little Christmas tree and put it right next to me! It’s like a fun little reminder that the holidays are always right around the corner!

If you’re planning a Christmas party (especially one with turkey and plenty of cranberry sauce), I’d love to be invited! Yum, yum… I really enjoy eating!

I Love Awayday

Flare Away Day: Lunch at Chilis

I love office awaydays! It’s basically a day where I eat way more snacks, do less work, and hardly talk. Haha… mostly because my mouth’s busy snacking and snapping pics. Multitasking isn’t my thing; I gotta focus, and honestly, keeping my attention on one thing just makes life easier (especially when it’s food).

We’re finally leaving the office for a late lunch! As much as I enjoy awaydays, there’s always that rush to finish up my work and stay super busy just before I can truly relax. We’re headed to Chili’s. Yay!! It’s exciting! When was the last time I ate there? Maybe about a month ago. Yeah, I think so.

I didn’t take many photos. Just chicken wings, since they were served first. I was too hungry to photograph the rest of the dishes.

Flare Away Day: Visit to Aquaria
Flare Away Day: Visit to Aquaria
Flare Away Day: Visit to Aquaria

Woohoo! We’re finally going on a “lawatan sambil belajar” to the Aquaria! Everyone I know has checked it out. Okay, maybe that’s a little exaggerating. Let’s just say almost all my friends have gone. They’ve told me all sorts of stories and flashed tons of cool pics from their visits.

I had to check it out for myself! To be real, the whole trip was kinda a letdown. Maybe my expectations is too high; I totally expected the place to be way bigger and packed with fish. Honestly, I was hoping for some giant fish, but instead, most were tiny and looked pretty lonely right from the beginning.

Not to mention, I never understood why spiders, bugs, and snakes ended up in the Aquaria in the first place.

Worst to worst… people who just simply take pictures with their “flash”. I mean.. hello.. can’t you read.. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY. That just annoys me. I stand there like 10 mins hoping the fish will stay calm enough for me to get a clear pic.. and they goes like *flash* and run! Hate that! Arghhhh…..

The worst are people who take photos using their flash. Seriously, can’t they see the sign saying “NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY”? It really frustrates me. I spend 10 minutes waiting for the fish to stay calm so I can get a clear picture, and then someone uses their flash and scares them away! I really hate it, that’s so annoying!

I really hope they’ll introduce additional fish and expand things a bit more.

Hong La Qiao – It’s Just So Spicy

Hong La Qiao Mala Hotpot
Hong La Qiao Mala Hotpot

Hong La Qiao Mala Hotpot
Hong La Qiao Mala Hotpot

After lots of discussion, we finally decided to go on a spicy mala hotpot adventure. Actually, we heard all sorts of horror stories, like people spitting fire afterwards. Still, I’m sure I can handle it, and honestly, I don’t think it’s going to be as spicy as everyone says.

We finally chose Restaurant Hong La Qiao to try their mala hotpot. Although we extended invitations to the gang, only our regular group showed up. The others  were either busy with work or were too concerned about the spiciness of the mala hotpot.

Good news for anyone who can’t handle spicy food: they also offer a non-spicy option. We ordered two types of soup bases which is the mala (spicy) soup base and the chicken (non-spicy) soup base.

We had to order hotpot ingredients separately, but since no one wanted to go first, we made a rule: everyone must order three dishes. Even though three may sound few, it adds up quickly in big groups.

My top pick is the thinly sliced beef. It’s paper-thin and melts in your mouth right away. Absolutely superb!

I loved these chewy, jelly-like noodles. They were incredibly smooth and silky. Unfortunately, I was too busy eating to catch their name.

My opinion of this place: The food is a bit spicy for my taste bud, but it’s really yummy. It tastes even better with their 3-in-1 combo sauce. Definitely worth trying!

The shop is just a few doors down from the Teochew Porridge Shop near Pudu Jail.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The menu is entirely in Chinese, so for fellow banana gang member like me, it is advisable to dine with someone who can read Chinese or request assistance from the staff if needed.

The New Me vs. Faye Wong

My Faye Hairstyle

My Faye Hairstyle

My Faye Hairstyle

Yay! I just got a new hairstyle. Of course, photos of my new look come first. Everything else can wait. Time to show off a little, haha!

I’m not quite finished yet. I still need to choose which colours to add. Honestly, deciding on the right shade is giving me a lot to think about! Getting a new hairstyle has left my mind spinning and added some stress and tension. There’s so much to consider; choosing the style, picking the colour, and figuring out how to maintain it once you’re done.

But it’s the first time in ages that I’ve had short hair, and I actually like it.

Look who's talkin!

A Post Without Picture

Okay, I’m just gonna fill up this page with a post and NOPE. No pictures, not even a single emoji! Well, how’s that for a change? Hmm… I guess everyone’s tired of seeing my face, including myself. Yeah, we all deserve a break.

I’ve got so much I want to post but barely any time to actually write about it. I don’t have a laptop or a palmtop, or whatever else people use. Honestly, I’m too lazy to jot things down in a notebook and then transfer them here. Plus, it wouldn’t feel like my original thoughts anymore as I’d probably modify things, perfect my English. The truth is my English is horrible and  has never been great! That’s why instead of typing “well-versed,” it ends up being “velverse.”

If you think my English isn’t good, that’s fine sinceI never claimed it was. I just use this space to write whatever I want, and using spell check on it seems silly and doesn’t make any sense.

Today was wonderful and I enjoyed a half day during our office away day. Yay! I love it when there’s less work and more time to unwind, relax, and have fun. I grabbed a late lunch at Chili’s, then hung out with my colleagues. I’m absolutely full! Afterwards, we had a “Lawatan Sambil Belajar” (study visit) to the Aquaria.

It was my first trip there, and I brought my camera along. Originally I was so happy, but when I got home and checked the photos, they turned out really bad. Everything was blurry! It looked like I had a serious hand-shake problem. Okay, maybe I’ll still upload some of the better pictures when I have time.

Afterwards, we jumped into the car and headed to the Renaissance Hotel for the client’s Open House Gathering. Wow! There were so many people, it was truly a massive crowd. We managed to find seats for ourselves. The clients joined us and chatted with us for a while. They kept encouraging me to eat, but my late and wonderful lunch just hadn’t settled yet. I could barely find any room, but my always-greedy self couldn’t resist the “onde-onde.” It wasn’t great, but I still had to have some. I didn’t get to eat any during this Raya!

Whew, I’m back! I just returned from the gathering. Looks like it’s time for me to flood everyone’s bandwidth with even more photos.

It’s A Photographic Car Ride?

Prem Car Selfie

This post is about being in Prem’s new car! Yep, this was on our way to a client’s open house in Putrajaya. It was a long drive, but pretty cool as we just mess around in Prem’s car. At first, I wanted to watch a movie, but all he had was some Bollywood dancing show. Hahaha… so there wasn’t much else to do.

This post is all about our road trip to a client’s open house in Putrajaya in Prem’s shiny new ride. The drive took ages, but we kept things entertaining with plenty of jokes. I was hoping for a movie, but all we got was a Bollywood dance show. Haha, as you can imagine, there isn’t much to do.

I got a little bored, and leaving me alone with my camera is always dangerous. Time for a selfie!

Kangaroo Can Be Found In Malaysia Too

The Australia Kangaroo

I finally got my present, a kangaroo souvenir instead of the usual koala. So far, every time friends visit Australia, I always receive a koala, so I’m glad to get something different for once.

I was given an option to choose between kangaroo and koala. So, haha, I chose the kangaroo this time! It’s my first time getting one. I never realized they also have kangaroos—I thought they only made koalas, and that they “mass produce” koalas!

Brian mentioned there were also sheep, but his colleagues took them all. I wonder if the sheep wore “I love Australia” jackets too. That would be cute.

Why not Malaysia make Sang Kancil souvenirs with “I love Malaysia”?  Well, why not? They could be very popular. Honestly, I really like this idea.
