Woohoo… back to back Klismas party! Yawn… I woke up around 10am. I wanted to sleep a little longer but I just couldn’t do it. Don’t ask me why. I kept waking up every one hour or so. I can’t take it anymore so I decided to wake up for good.

I then lepak in my house. Watch tv, do some laundry then get ready to party again. Haha.. well, this is the first time I have this back to back party during Klismas time. Hehe… Jerry was suppose to come pick me up. Yeah… I am poor mah and can’t afford a car yet . Hehe… I ring ring him around 4 to ask what time he will be reaching. He told me he will reach around 6.30 – 7.00 pm coz everywhere is jammed.

I know I am a slow-poke especially when it comes to dressing up and make ups. What to do, I am not a pro ma. I dunno what fits me and what not. So I actually does spend a lot of time in front of the mirror. Yeah… don’t like that lar, I need to spend some precious time with my evil twin mar. It’s Christmas you know. I need to spend more time with her on big occasions like this.

Hah… Jerry was early. He called me “Woi ah mui, I reach dy. Haha.. I’m early wor, so how?” When I told him I’m done and can leave right after I packed the presents I wanna bring along. He was rather shocked when I say I can leave . Haha… he thought I wasn’t ready and needed super long time. Phew.. lucky I called him earlier. Or else I sure die one.

We then reach Jon’s office around 7++. Not much stuff was finished prepared but Jon says his colleagues got things under control so we just sit back and relax. Jerry and the usual him started to make noise. Yeah… he keeps complaining that he’s hungry. Yes… it kinda gets on my nerves . I mean, just wait a little while, grab some chips you know… stuff yourself till you’re not that hungry and wait for dinner to be served. He refuse to eat any chips or whatsoever. The best part, he asked me to mix a vodka drink for him.

He then quietly ask me to accompany him down to KFC so he can eat something. Haha… I knew it, he’s been eyeing on the KFC since we pass by it before we went up to Jon’s place. He just gotta have it. Yeah, it’s like giving a little boy a candy bar. They will stay happy after having a candy and gives everyone a peace of mind. Before we left, Jon asked us to tapau some KFC when we head up coz he worried the food might not be enough.

When Jerry finish eating and queuing up the second time to tapau the KFC, he suddenly ask me “Why am I having KFC here when I am suppose to tapau some KFC back for Jon? I can just tapau together and eat up there right? ” Haha… good question, but hey I never understand stuff that he do most of the time. We then waited for his friend King Soon to arrive and then we all went up to Jon’s place together.

When we reach Jon’s office for the second time, everyone’s already eating. AH… I join in the fun and munch munch munch. Everyone then rush inside Jon’s office and busy playing CS. It’s really not my thing. Yeah… I am never good with stuff that needs eye and hands coordination. I always got killed and I can’t even walk straight in the game. I will always end up brushing myself against the wall. Sigh…. Lucky Jon’s dad was there to chit chat with me and kept me accompanied while I am eating.

I seriously am proud of myself. Why? I am never good in communicating with elderly people. Yes.. zero communication skills. I will normally end up answering “Oh… ya ya” all the time or I will be busy nodding my head. Haha… I guess it’s the magic of Christmas. For the first time, I can talk to elderly people non-stop.

Tamy then came out and we all started a group to play “Chor Dai Dee (Big 2)”. Party rules, loser obviously gotta down some liquors. Haha… I down a cup or two. Soon, the crowd grew. There were even people playing mahjongs. Yeah… the Kung Fu Mahjong disciples.

Time flies… it’s almost 12 midnight. Everyone went down and walked towards Sunway Pyramid. We’re expecting to see fireworks but hey no fireworks. Instead, everyone is being sprayed with the party poppers sorta things and foams. Argh… I got sprayed. It’s just so sticky! Help!! Hahaha… everyone is busy running around chasing one another and looking for easy targets. IT was fun but really sticky.

We then went up and continued partying. Jon then introduce us with this new game. A game where we have to remember everyone’s pose and after we clap our hands we gotta do someone else pose to pass the ball to them. Argh… I’m not good in explaining this in words. Come meet me and talk to me if you are really interested. *winks*

Haha… towards the end they try to make me drink, but hey I survived! Yeay. The party ended quite late, around 3am. ME, Gigi, Jerry, Brian and King Soon then went supper at the coffee shop right behind of Jon’s office.

ME, Gigi and Brian soon decided to camp over at the Sunway Hotel that Jon has booked. Yeah… eventually he got 2 night free stay. Muahaha… none of us slept (except for JON). Hahaha.. we were all busy chit chatting. WE chat till early morning next day and we continue to eat our breakfast and everyone soon headed home separately.

Huar.. super tiring day. I can hardly think straight now. By the time I reach home, I knocked out for an hour then wake up when mum called me. Yeah, mum came down for a visit and we then headed to our new apartment and then straight to auntie’s place for Christmas dinner. Wow.. back to back to back Christmas dinner.

I was tagged by BeerBrat to write an entry in less than 200 words, and it totally freaked me out. Short and snappy post is never my thing.

The velverse style of writing:
velverse is a place where random thoughts were being expressed. Well, unfortunately not much people do understand what is being expressed. Therefore there are needs to tickle a few minds with weird questions.

1. Why is blue associated with sadness?
2. Why are humans creating robot that is similar to human to help us with our stuff when we are overpopulated?
3. Why does people have this sense of loneliness even when they are surrounded by millions of people?
4. Is it true that guys like blowjob because they can have 10 minutes of peace of mind?
5. Why are sea water salty?
6. Why only dried grapes have special name “raisin” while poor fruits like apricot, pineapple, apple or banana have none?

If only I have the power to understand and know everything and anything. That would be fun.. but then again, it’s just the silly thoughts in me.

Movie Review: The 3rd Generation

The 3rd Generation (2006)

Movie Title: 第三代 (The 3rd Generation)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/10)

Looking at the poster itself, I was quite surprised by the how stunning the poster were and find  it hard to believe it was a local Malaysian movie. The admiration were short-lived , as the movie turns out a Wong Kar Wai wannabe style and approach, poorly written script and horrible (and yes, absolutely horrible) Cantonese accent.

The movie started off very promising, and I must say the level of detail and effort put in to the opening screens were amazing and the silhouette with batik pattern overlay is truly a Malaysian touch. But everything from then onwards went downhill, especially the moment the casts starts talking. One may think I am bias and just pin-pointing to one person, but no, all 3 of the actress have different and weird Cantonese accent and it’s pretty obvious they don’t speak Cantonese in their daily conversations hence that awkwardness and the forcefulness.

The 3rd generation storyline centres around the Chan family where their 3rd generation, Charlie (Nicholas Teo) just came back to Malaysia after studying abroad for a long time. He came back with his fiancé, Susan (Amber Chia) where the both are soon to held their traditional Chinese wedding while Charlie prepares to take over the family business.

While Susan is busy trying to cope with the change and gain acceptance from the elderly due to their culture and tradition differences, Charlie was busy flirting and having fun with his new found mistress Linda (Carmen Soo) whom he got to know on his bachelor night out.

From poor and forceful acting, the movie’s annoying and irritating level reached its climax when  Charlie’s and Linda’s were together. Those cheesy and poor script will give anyone who understand Cantonese a meltdown. Some of their iconic slow-mo and cheesy speech includes:
1. “You.. me.. why not?” and “You don’t mind, I also happy” 😂
2. The classic eating char kuey teow ka hum ka dan (fried kuey teow with extra cockles and eggs). And where Charlie said “Egg, you like” and I’m sure everyone would have guessed it when Linda said “Cockles, you like”. ‍😥
3. When they are trying to make out secretly at Linda’s place but worry they may get caught by Linda’s uncle and aunty, she suddenly out of no where said ” You remember to wear it”.

With a lot of time spent on artistic Wong Kar Wai wannabe style and approach, only little time is spent on serious things and the soul of the movie in which the movie promotes highly of –  the emphasis on “Chinese believes that the family fortune or the wealth of a family can never get pass the 3rd generation”.  This was actually quite down played and instead the movie focused on educating or showcasing of local Chinese believes, practices and culture, which I quite like.

I think the crew finally realize nothing in the movie so far represents what they promote and thus squeeze everything in at the last 20 minutes of the show, in a quick snapshot manner. From birth to death and imprisonment. Wow! If only they planned better and cut down more scenes of Nicholas and Carmen, the movie may not have failed and disappoint that badly.

If you were to watch it, I highly recommend for you to watch it with sound off if you don’t want to be annoyed.

Ambiguous

Rainie Yang - Ai Mei

I was repeating my playlist again.
If my colleague (Loh) knew about this, he would probably have nightmares.

It is quite a pleasant surprise to find that Rainie Yang was the singer for this song 曖昧 (Ambiguous).
I only knew her as the co-host of the popular Taiwanese variety show, Guess Guess Guess.
She speaks the least in the show, most of the time not able to pick up or continue the Jacky Wu’s jokes.
And I thought the only reason she was placed in the show was for her cute look and that big, bright sparkly eyes.

After I saw a 30 mins promotional video about her new album on TV, I was hooked to this song.
And I have got to admit, I never heard of the words “曖昧” before this.
That kind of feeling, the best feeling one could have in a relationship before everything goes downhill from there.

Then again, it may also be a torture if the relationship never progress.
Stuck in a phase where we are not too sure when to move forward and when to take a step back.
When our mind tells us status quo is good enough, just stay the same.
But our heart, longing for more.

Movie Review: Moonlight In Tokyo

Moonlight in Tokyo (2005)

Movie Title: 情義我心知 (Moonlight in Tokyo)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (8/10)

It has been a while since Leon Lai last appear in any more, and it wasn’t until I saw upcoming movie introductions and soon search for it to confirm. And guess what, the poster itself really looks cheap and unappealing. But I guess that’s the look and feel they are going for since the movie’s storyline centred around both Leon Lai and Chapman To turns to be a gigolo aka “duck” (as we Chinese term them), to improve their livelihood.

Contrary to the poster look and feel, the trailer looks promising, especially when Leon and Chapman were doing the Swan Lake dance. And it didn’t just manage to tempt me, it also tempted my good friend – Brian to join us in watching a Hong Kong movie in cinema. As far as I know, he never really watch any Hong Kong movies in cinema aside the blockbusters.

Moonlight in Tokyo, starts by telling the story of Jun (Leon Lai) who is diagnosed with mild mental disabled.  After his parents passed away, he lives with brothers and sisters who then decides to leave him in the busy streets in Tokyo after they can’t take the pressure from constant argument and crying from the family members.

Jun cross path with Hoi (Chapman To), when Hoi tried to steal from the mentally disabled Jun after finding himself in serious debt after girls that he illegally brought in to Japan to work as prostitutes ran away. In a twist of event, Jun started to stay at Hoi’s place after helping him paid of his debts and taking care Hoi who was seriously beaten up loan sharks.

In one of their bathing sessions, Hoi finally found Jun’s most valuable potential – his good looks, and decided to turn him into Japan’s top and most desirable gigolo. With Hoi’s guidance and Jun’s good looks, it didn’t take too long for them to be popular and soon money and power starts flowing in.

Like all other movies, money and power always brings bad news along. I loved how the entire movie is being stitched up together, and how they started the entire movie on a comedic tone and in the last 30 minutes or lesser, manage to switch the tone to a more serious tone.

And I loved how the director just vaguely introduced the characters which leads us to assume things about the characters, and in the end got us thinking while the story unfolds.

P/S:  Guess what? I am shocked 😲, in some way happy 😆 but somehow speechless 😶 when I accidently found out that Leon Lai and me share the same date of birth.

Haha, but I of course will always still stand by Andy Lau side 💗.

I’ll Remember

Minutes, hours, days, months and even years passed by.
Every time any of these passed by they leaves behind some marks in my memory.
Across the years, I tried hard to gather every single bits and pieces of it and try to put the back together.

It may not be easy, as I am ageing and I am also pretty certain that my memories will fail me someday.
There are too many things I want to remember, refuse to forget.
But there is too little space in my brain.

Guess I will need to prioritise things, sort of what is worthy to remember and which not.
For now, I will try to remember every single bit of it.
Don’t be angry if I forget, don’t be sad if I can’t remember.
Don’t be shy to remind me if I ever forget.
Trust in me, that I am trying my very best to remember.

Look who's talkin!

A brand new year

A brand new year has started. When I was about to think it just startes, it has already pass me by for 2 days. *Blink blink* It’s the 3rd today. Geezzz.. I guess I have wasted 3 days. Ermm not really wasted. I guess I spend a lot of time with my friends. Hehe.. I guess this year, if one would ask me what’s my new year resolution.. ermmm WORK HARD, PARTY HARD, TRAVEL HARD. Yeah, I haven’t been doing any travelling out of Malaysia since… I dunno. 

Well, I guess I will have to learn very very hard to let things go and learn to see a bigger picture than what I am currently seeing. So yeah, that means more crapz. Hope I can do it. Just felt too bored and well.. maybe I am getting bigger in size, thus I need to see a bigger picture to make me feel I ain’t that big. *muahahaha*

I know this is rather late but hey.. better late than never. I hope everyone will have a great year ahead. Achieve what you plan to achieve and ermmm I dunno crap along with me.
