Pink guava. One of the rarest fruit I tried. And definately the rarest experience. Yes, who would have guessed, my first time eating one was spent in the hotel while waiting for my travel buddy. Haha.. of all days, I woke up earlier and get ready earlier cause she decided to sleep longer. After it was her turn, the hotel had no water.. ?? cause the hotel pipe burst. Like really? On our last day? So yes, I was chilling eating guava, watching andy lau on tv while waiting.. while my buddy walk around wondering what she should do.. if she should "marinate salt fish" or figure out. With her persistent calling, the hotel finally send in 4 small mineral water for her. The final day, must do something touristy. Yes.. every brochure or website I go to that says "visit Taiwan" will sure see this. It's as tho if you have not been here, you have not been to Taiwan.. or an equivalent crime of never been to Taipei 101. Of all days in this trip, it rained. This is a dish, that is so simple yet complex. Maybe the picture didn't do its justice. It looks amd may really be a simple fried noodles topped with minced meat sauce. The only dish we encore this trip. Yes, our very first time trying this was in AnPing where we take away. I find the one in AnPing taste better cause they had bean sprout in it and added a dash of meat, which gives ut better texture in comparison. Now, this was an add on after we look at other tables ordering it. This is basically stufded white bittergourd. It was one of a pleasant surprise, and one that I did not regret ordering cause it was really good, at least in my point of view. This was my first time trying it so there is no comparison. What is there to like? To begin with, it does not have any bitter taste at all.. in fact I find it had the taste and texture of the spicy sichuan vegetable.. minus the spicy. While the meat.. it's made of minced pork, but it's the smooth kind, not like a meatball like rough texture, instead it's a bitblike luncheon meat kinda texture. Yes, by now I have used 2 things that I like most to describe this dish, luncheon meat and spicy sichuan vegetables. Heard so much about this place before I even arrived. Most people I know told me I would like it here. So ok, I decided I must go see what that fuss is all about. We waved for a cab in front of our hotel and whatever happens next is completely epic: Me: Hi, can we go to the pier-2. The art center? Taxi driver: (nod nod) ok ok. And because I used English to read out the place I want to go.. and the taxi driver said ok ok so fast and without a doubt.. my travel buddy decides mandarin is needed, just in case.. she worried we are going to Holland instead. Travel buddy: we want to go "????" (pier no 2). Taxi driver: ??? ????? Pier 2 jetty? Why would you want to go there for? I guess he must be wondering if this girl is trying to go smuggle stuff or what. And looking at his shocked face, I decided googling and showing him in words would be best and so: Me: here. We want to go here (showing and pointing at the search results) Taxi driver: ooooooooohhhhh.. ?????? is it? It is ?????? not ????. It is 2 different things and place. ?????? is tourist attraction. See art and etc. ???? is really a jetty.. a pier and nothing there. Very secluded place. Normallya people seldom go there. Me: ????? (looking at my travel buddy and LOL). We are back. After a tiring 45mins standing journey in between coach. The tiring part is not entirely thd standing.. but more the heat and sweat, because the area is not air conditioned. And the speed.. has caused the train to shake vigorously, which is bad for my recovering sprained legs. Why!?! Why using youyou card cannot get any seat? We paying the same price wor it seems. Really still can't understand how the system works.
