Let’s party in Kuantan!

My little trip to kuantan

Backdated post. Actual event took place on 08 December 2006.

After the relaxing meeting by the beach, we all head back to our rooms to get some rest and shower before we head out and look for food. Okay, let’s re-phrase… not look for food… as a matter of fact, Prem and Adrian have everything under control. All we ever need to do is get ready, hop on to the cars and tada…. we will be there.

My little trip to Kuantan

I have no idea where we were at. All I know is I see quite a large number of shops by this road all selling grilled seafood. We stopped at this particular shop name Phuket. Yup, I find the name sorta weird. It’s as if I am in Phuket Island. But well, who cares… as long as they serve good food! I am hungry~

Since Prem loves fishing and is the expert in this area, the task to choose what fish and how it’s being cooked is being entrusted to him. All we do… let’s see, sit down.. order our drinks and wait for the food to come. The next step… snap some pictures and then… EAT!!!

No one can believe the amount of stuff we ate that night. I think we ordered almost 4 different type of fish, crabs, seafood tom yam and fried kangkung with squid. So yes, talk about seafood overload. The grill fish is simply amazing. I seriously don’t know what fish is what fish… but they all tasted just so great. The crabs was my favourite. I felt like eating them all and order more. Too bad, that was all that was left in the shop. So… yeah, at least we get to try some.

By the way, did I mention most of the people in Kuantan think I am some Korean chick? Hemm.. yeah, no kidding man. They have been asking me that since I set foot in Kuantan.

My little trip to Kuantan

While we are in Kuantan, we surely and must visit Checker’s. Yes, the one in KL was a branch from the Kuantan one. So yeah, MANDY WAS HERE! It is pretty much more spacious here. Not to mention the ambience and sound system was super cool. We all had fun, sitting around, chit chatting… playing pool and listening to Prem’s mix.

After lepaking in Checker’s, we head back to our hotel whereby our second round begins. According to Prem, the bar at our hotel is pretty happening and loads of youngsters hang out there. Apparently they are very strict when it comes to dresscode, however I manage to get away with that problem… coz they all think I look like Korean and wouldn’t even understand what they were talking about. So yeah… act blur and just walk in!

My little trip to Kuantan

After the continuous drinking session, we all went back to our rooms and knock out. Since I have an extra bed on my room, I sneak in the little kitty doll I stole from Loh’s car. Hemm.. since the little kitty will be sleeping in the car, might as well just adopt him/her for 2 days and share my empty bed. Yawn… I need to sleep… more meeting tomorrow~

My little trip to Kuantan

My little trip to kuantan

Backdated post. Actual event took place on 08 December 2006.

Ah… my very first trip to Kuantan. Haha.. sort of exciting for me since this would officially be the first time I set foot in kuantan (excluding the kijal trip). This is our Flare’s very first Away Day and Prem decided to bring us to his hometown and have some good food while we could breakaway from office environment and have some creative meeting.

We split in 2 cars to go to Kuantan. Adrian went back the night before as he have something else to do back in Kuantan. Prem drove Azli and Zul to Kuantan. As for me…. being the little princess, of course I have the privilege of my nearby neighbour… Loh to pick me up from my house. Since our place is near to the highway to Kuantan… we decided to have breakfast while waiting for them. Amazingly even after our breakfast s session, they guys still never called. We then decided to move on first since Prem would be driving in a very fast manner and would probably catch up with us.

And yes, we stop at one of the stops as Loh needs a ciggie break. True enough… the others join in just like 30 mins later at the stop nearby to Kuantan. By the time we reach Kuantan, we went and pick up Adrian and decided to look out for places to have lunch. Sadly but weirdly, there isn’t much place which is open for lunch. According to the locals (Prem and Adrian), most of the good food only happen at night. Hence we decided to head back to the hotel and just check-in and eat there.

My little trip to Kuantan

Lunch was at Hyatt’s main dining area. There weren’t much people at that point of time. There weren’t much options hence we head for the ala carte menu and ordered what we feel like eating. I would say the food weren’t really great but it wasn’t that bad. Prem, Zul and Adrian have their specialty fried rice which comes with loads of fried chicken and satay. Yummy~ As for Azli, he had the chicken rice. Hehe… yes, Azli loves chicken rice I would say.  I tend to notice he orders chicken rice at most of the places we dine in. Loh tried their Thai Style Chicken. I never gave it a try.. but the looks of it is tempting enough. As for me, Stir Fried Sotong with Spring Onion. Hemm… it tasted quite okay except the fact that it is a little too sweet. I taste sugar! Yup, I dun really like my food to be sweet. Seriously!

Right after lunch, we each head back to our room. Haha… everyone gotta share room… except for the cute me :) Now… that is how you spell luxury when it comes to being the only girl in the office ;) After a short break, we all head to the meeting room and have some small creative meeting.

There were small games to keep everyone participating and alert. It’s a game similar to “Win, Lose or Draw” and I sorta win the game. What shocks me is actually there is a cash prize to it. Wooohooo.. so yeah, I bagged extra cash! Yippie yay~ I am really good at this game… and that gesture guessing game :) I pay attention one you know!

My little trip to Kuantan

After the meeting, we head out to the pub like place next to the beach at our hotel. While rest and relaxing by the beach, we have some small talks and discussions. Yup, ah… the brain function just so well while sipping the chilled pineapple juice, looking at the ocean… focusing on the white sandy beach. Now, I wish I could work from places like this everyday! And this is not even half of what happen on the first day. So yes, stay tune for the part 2. When work is fun and relaxing~

Wonderful Hong Kong~

Made in Hong Kong
Made in Hong Kong
Made in Hong Kong

I am back to summarize my Hong Kong trip before you see it again probably in 1/2 years time. Anyway. Yes… Hong Kong is a fun fun fun place to visit. Many people tell me there isn’t much to see in Hong Kong and 2-3 days is enough to finish visiting the place.

I wonder if they walk too fast, I walk too slow or probably they have been to many other places that Hong Kong seems boring to them… or probably they have been there gazillion times. For me… hemm… a week seems too short. I doubt if I even manage to conquer 20% of what’s in Hong Kong. It’s really not as small as I always thought it would be. But trust me… I guess TVB did manage to cover almost all places in Hong Kong.

Why would I say that? My parents… sister and cousin keep telling me, eh.. one of the TVB shot the movie here.. and here… and here… and there… and there. At the end of probably day 2… I would just say… tell me when u see a spot where none of the shows/movie was shot there. Now that would really interest me.

Of course I didn’t meet Andy Lau in person… sigh.. due to his busy schedules and concert for the 10 years anniversary of Hong Kong returning to China. It’s really a coincidence but happy thing that I am apart of the celebration. It’s really cool to be there at that moment (okay… minus the amount of people).

Lan Kwai Fong is not as er…. empty as I thought it would be. Not to be exact empty… but.. less people. The moment I reach there… it was like a damn happening street, with all the bars and clubs filled with people. Of course we manage to get a place… hang out a moment, take some pics which obviously caught some people’s attention. Hemm… yes… a few people try just so hard to make it in to my photos.

Oh yes, did I mention I was addicted to toys and the hemmm… what do you call that… vending machines that has toys stores in a egg shape capsule. Oh yeah… those are pretty much addictive and I manage to fill my bag full every night with those stuff. So yeah, I have loads and loads of mini figures to decorate my glass shelf. Not to mention I bought a lot of toys.

Of course I can’t miss Hong Kong’s pride, the Ocean Park and Disneyland! Both big parks which got me burn all my calories and for sure fats. Yes, dreams come true for me. Now… if only I get to meet Andy in Disneyland! Double dream come true!

Lantau Island was great. I really enjoy looking at the big buddha. Now.. in Thai, they keep pester me to see the big buddha but I didn’t bother. Now you know why huh?

As for Macau… I totally love it.. love it… love it. It seriously resembles Malacca and I could stay there like forever. Okay… probably not forever. Then again… I think it’s too short of a trip for me to see everything in Macau. I will probably return to visit more and try their food. Portugese food rocks man! Not to mention their famous egg tart and serradura. It’s a shame to say that you have been to Macau but never tried any of these. Then again… one can always blame it on the casinos.

Oh yeah, I am proud to say, I have been to the spot where Goong (Princess Hours) shot their Macau scene. I went to the church where they both got married. Sat at the place where Shin sat while waiting for Chae Gyeung to come with the egg tart. La la la… yes, I am surely a Goong fans huh. Need I say, we really do our research! Don’t play play!

Thai Me Up!

I L.O.V.E Thai!
I L.O.V.E Thai~

Okay… I guess it will be a while then only you will see my Thai post.. hence here are some images of where I’ve been to and spending most of my time doing while I was in Bangkok.

Of course, I spend a lot of time  going to temples and cultural places… equal.. or probably more time lepak-ing in some cool cafe’s. Right… hard to find such cool places in KL for sure. Large amount of time spent on the street searching for street food like Pad Thai and Thai Sausages. Yummy yum yum…

Okay… most nights were allocated for shopping. Shop shop shop till I drop! I mean, right… woman likes to shop. It’s in our blood! er… and some say hormones. Of course I visited most of the markets.. be it night market… weekend market. Hah.. talk about amount of walking I have done for the past week in Bangkok~

Amazingly, I didn’t give tuk tuk a try this time. Why? No offence but some bad drivers give most of the tuk tuk a bad name. And… seriously, this trip.. they really leave quite some bad impression. Why? Hemm… I guess Nicole will tell you a better story! After all… she is good in telling stories.

Thai-ri-ffic.

Sawadeeka!! Ah… a little short update from thai when I have the time. First thing first… it’s seriously hot and I feel like a roast pork now. No kidding… my whole body is aching and it’s really killing me. I think I am a little sunburn-ed. Hem… okay, as a matter of fact… I am way darker when I arrive here 3 days ago!

Haha… when I came they all tot I am a japanese/korean/china girl. All goes like… “ni hao, ahnyeong seyo, konichiwa”… and well… by yesterday… everyone starts to talk to me in Thai… and when I give a shocked and “I don’t understand what you are talking about” face… they soon know I am not Thai. Ah… is that a good sign or what?

I think by the time I come back from Hong Kong… I would look dark enough to be bitter sweet. As far as I remember, Thai wasn’t that hot the other time I came. Anyway… probably it’s me who is not used to all the walking under the great hot sun.

The amount of walking and the amount of sweat… hemmm… I guess whatever amount of food I eat just doesn’t matter anymore. Oh yeah… talking about food… THAI SAUSAGES rocks!!!!!!

Okay… shall update again… er… when I touch down in Malaysia (before my Hong Kong trip).

Ho.li.day
Pictures taken from: http://fotologue.jp/lek

Finally!!! My holiday session is here. My long awaited trip is happening tomorrow. Oh… I am so gonna miss my blog… 20th June to 9th July of holiday! YAHOO!!!

Ah… I know I have been pretty busy and have been neglecting my blog for sometime. But well… yes, my first trip together with my cousin, Nicole to some overseas trip. Hehe… memorable~ :)

This is gonna be a long holiday for me. The journey started of with a 6 day Bangkok trip.. whereby the agenda will continue on with a 7 day Hong Kong trip and followed by a few days of makan trip around KL with Nicole.

Hehe… I am sorta happy when it comes to thinking of me going to shop shop and shop in Bangkok… not forgetting snapping pictures… then going to shop shop and shop in Hong Kong. Hemm… I wonder if I ever gonna see some fireworks when in Hong Kong since there are going to be some big celebration on July 1st.

I can’t wait… to go Disneyland too. Yeah, my mum sorta promise me this 2 years ago… and yeah.. finally, dreams come true! (click here to read old entry). Ah… I really can’t wait to buy the toys and everything else.

So yeah, can’t wait to see the world… hoping to see Andy Lau pass by, buy lots of vinyl toys… nice baby tee… weeee… :D So yes, wish me luck!

Please note that the pictures used in the montage is taken by lek. Well, I know my montage doesn’t do his photography justice as I kinda tweak and make his pictures look not as nice. Sorry ya! ;)

Go Genting! Go Genting!

Okay.. believe it anot, I only have time to blog about my Genting Invasion today. It’s been like a week ago. I know… Hahaha… but well I wanted to blog about it. Ermm why? I dunno… at least I can look back when.. eh… god knows how old I will be when I start to click on the archives and goes like… ooo… I did this… wow… I did that….. woooo… I saw this handsome geek~ Okay okay… to be honest with… there isn’t any handsome geek in Genting… not as far as my eyes can see. Better luck next time… I hope~

0400 hrs
Just finish watching mid night show and yum char with friends. Sigh.. was suppose to go dinner with ganesh, but sis say she’ll pick me up and go genting.. but she made last minute change of plan. Hahaha…. and I canceled my dinner plan with ganesh. Ah… I should have just went for the dinner!

0700 hrs
Mum called. Dad is on the way down from Genting to pick me up. I was tired. I barely have 2 hours of sleep. Yeah…. in case anyone forget, I packed like 1/4 of my room stuff there. I dunno what got in to me. I just feel I need to have everything there. As if I am staying there for good.

Finally dad arrived. First thing mum say to me was “You’ve gone fatter” Okay.. I know I know.. That’s not what I wanna hear in the early morning . Dad as usual will deny the fact that I have been gaining weight. Well, I used to be fatter, and I guess that image is still in his head, so as long as I am not as fat as what I used to be… He will still say.. “No lah, It’s just the cloths she is wearing”. HOW SWEET~

p/s - I sleep all the way from my house to Genting

0900 hrs
Mum made breakfast… Hahaha… yup hot steamed CHAR SIEW PAU and coffee!! Yumm yumm… my favourite. It’s really been some time since I last ate char siew pau. Serious shit man. I guess it’s like lemme count… A year? Hemmmm.. as far as I can remember, I never had any pau when I am in KL. As a matter of fact, I dun even know where on earth in KL can I get nice and tasty char siew pau. Have a little chit chatz with uncle, auntie, mum and dad, sis and sis bf.

1030 hrs
Go Genting!: Genting Theme Park
Me, sis and sis bf(Jason) started off our invasion plan. Yup.. It’s sis birthday celebration. So we will all go out and have fun. It’s been a long time since the dynamic sisters venture in to the theme park.

Okay… sis went to buy tickets. Me and jason have nothing to do. He decided to test out his camera. Yeay~ I din bring mine. He will be the cameraman for the day~ How would I decline. I love being photographed. Hahaha~

1045 hrs
Do You Measure Up?: MEDo You Measure Up?: Denise
Okay. We both feel like measuring ourselves. Hahaha… Yup obviously I am more than 152cm. So yeap, I do measure up to the scale. I can play almost everything and anything. Opsss… except for some kiddies stuff. We are all set. We know what we can play and we surely have our bands around now.

Go Genting!: Sis bf (Jason) and sista (Denise)
In case anyone is wondering. This is my photographer of the day. Hehehe… my sister’s boyfriend Jason and my sister, Denise. Sweet eh?

Day 01 - 1100 hrs
We are all set. Got our bands tighten to our wrist. Wooo hooo… Theme Park here we come! We started off out first ride of the day, The “Super Toboggan”. Don’t ask me what does Toboggan means. My english is seriously Sdn. Bhd. la. You know… ENGLAND no good! Well, this ride have the shortest queue and well, we wonder why. When we finally get to the front, we finally knew why. You actually have to weight yourself, and if you are more than 65kg. I’m so sorry people! You are out of the line. Hahaha… A good choice for a ride. 1. Less people in line. 2. I finally know how much I weight recently.. muahahaha…

Hehehe…. when I first saw the cars, I asked my sister, “Does it look like those toy cars u see for kids in the supermarkets and just attach some wheels to it?” Hahaha… we both laughed and she say I can be an inventor then. Seriously, the ride looks a little old. Especially the cars. I wonder how long have they been there?

Okay… we move on for more excitement. This time around, we saw this huge spinning thing. Yeah, it’s located right next to the entrance. The queue wasn’t that long after we left the Super Toboggan. Yippie… when I saw it spinning… my legs start to tremble. Well with my past medical record and fear for heights, I normally will have blackouts. However… we only live once in our lifetime, so I decided to still go for it.

Hahaha… this is my first time on this ride man. No shit! At first it seems scary. I mean okay.. when it start to spin. I seriously dare not look at the groud. All I was looking at was the scenery around the park. Haha…. the first 10 seconds.. I felt it was damn scary and even scream… after that 10 seconds… I start to feel bored… my voice toned down and eventually stop screaming. woo hoo~ I start to be crazy after the ride.

Yeay…. after a fast ride, I wanted to ride on something slow. Hehe… yeah a merry-go-round. I always like the merry-go-round. Hehe…. I dunno.. ever since young I felt it was something very pretty and beautiful. Maybe lots of horses and lights and everyhing else makes it such a favourite.

With a patented design that includes an incredible horizontal steam engine and organ. Wow…… Isn’t that amazing?

Wow… when the noon time comes, everywhere is crowded with people. Long queue everywhere. We skipped many rides due to the overwhelmed amount of people. We decided to go for the new ride in the theme park. Yeah, due to it being something new in the park, we will have to pay additional RM10 per person for the ride. Yeah… and in malaysia… paying means no one in the queue… Hahahaha… yippie~ lets go!

Ride 04: Flying Coaster

Okay let’s see, according to the facts… this ride is the first in asia hang-gliding roller coaster. Swoop, twist and zoom round turns and drops! This roller coaster is designed by renowned coaster designer Werner Stengel and manufactured by Zamperla of Italy. Pregnant women and persons with heart, neck or back conditions are not allowed to take this ride.

Hehe… lucky I pass everything mentioned! Yeay! I fly like superman before~ But come to think of it again. The cage for the ride, looks rather like spiderman than superman. Ermmm.. flying spiderman???

Go.. go.. go.. ole ole ole… Here we go, to play the Grand Prix Fun Kart. Hehe… Wow… I was scared. I dunno how to drive, I always crash when playing dytona, or should I say my car is always sticking to the wall trying to do some wall graffiti. I have doubt if I could even finish one lap. My sis told me. It’s really very slow okay~ You won’t even need the brakes. Yeah right! You are an expert driver.. sure say so lar! I am still praying to god know who I am praying to. I dunno… just whatever lar. We need to sign this computerized stuff.. like if we die or crash or met with accident, genting shall not be held responsible. Damn… do they have to do that to us. I mean… I am half dead thinking I have to drive round and round.. and they make us sign this shit! I mean.. yah… every other rides doesn’t have this thing. Only this one.

Okay. I got my lucky number 10 cart. Hahaha….. okay cool cool steady~ I simply just press on the gas pedal and vroom my way around. At first I was quite scared. There are some people in front of me who step on their brakes so I will have to step on it and overtake them. Okay first time doing that in my life. Felt a little less nervous now. Okay… I am still very concentrated. I can see my sister and jason was like bored half way of the ride. But I dunno… my first driving experience. I seriously hold the stering wheel so tight my hand is sweating. Hello… yeah I am sweating. Next time I shall stick this “Newbie On The Road” sign on my car.

No gutts no glory. Yup, I finally have found my glory! Aha… I manage to take a ride on this Space Shot.. and the best thing is.. I never close my eyes this time. Hahaha… okay okay… you might think.. what so great about that. Who cares what you think man. No one ask for your opinion. My first time on this space machine. Hahaha, now I know how it feels to be when I am in the lift and it falls down.

Wow.. I have never seen genting view from this top! Hahaha… It really does look beautiful. Only for that 10 seconds I think. Then up and down we go! My heart seriously almost pop out when it first fall. Hahaha… seriously it does. I feel I have week ankle that instant. Luckyly we were on the seat or else I dunno what will happen. Help me! help me!

1425 hrs
It’s lunch time. Yeap, we ate at the canteen inside the Theme Park. Yeah, when we bought the tickets, we got this discount coupons so we decided to use it. Don’t waste mar. Hehehe.. seriously food service there is bad. It’s rather slow and ermmm un-effective. Jason’s lamb chop was terrible, it only has fries, salad and fries. They din give him cucumbers and tomatoes. Poor poor. What’s e ven worst.. Its so salty I could hardly taste the lamb. My chicken chop was the last to arrive. I din want to have heavy lunch coz I’m waiting for mum’s cooking. I gave 1/4 to my sis and 1/4 to jason. One thing cool about this place. Hahaa.. you can play games for free~ while waiting for your food.

Lunch Time: Me, Myself and My Tai Kar Jie

The ride must go on! How can we stop just like that lar. We dun intend to vomit our precious lunch out so we all went for something not so thrilling. Something that doesn’t really excite our heart and brain that much. We walked around looking at the map what we haven’t play. Actually I should say what’s available on plate since almost 1/2 of it is closed for maintenance. Yeah raya and deepavali is up soon. They gotta get ready for that crowd and ignore us.

Yeap… I’m leaving on a jet plane. To where? NO idea, where ever this Astro Fighter takes me I guess. Hemm…. And seriously, of all plane I chose this lousy plane… that can’t rise and land. Just going round and round in circle. How sad case lah!

Ride 07: Astro Fighter
Can’t fight the cold hard facts:

Type of Ride: For all the family
Country of Origin: Italy
Total No. of Jets: 12 units
Maximum Capacity: 24
Weight: 7500 kg
Speed: 2 - 3 meters / second
Duration: 3 - 5 minutes

Yeap yeap.. and I am this astro fighter with this lauyah plane. If I were to be in this battle, I would be dead by then.

Woohoo… our last ride for the day! The Antique Car. Yeah I used to remember the good old days. When it was this Antique Car aka Antique Bumper Car. Hahaha.. all everyone wanna do is step on their gas pedal and knock the front car. Yeap, this time I am the driver. I love being the driver!

Ride 08: Antique Car
Antique fact about the Antique Car ride:

Type of Ride: For all the family
Country of Origin: Canada
Track Length: 700 meters
Total No. of Cars: 17 units
Capacity Per Car: 4 persons
Duration of Ride: 7 minutes
Speed: 10 km/h
Car Length: 8 feet
Fuel Capacity: 21 liters

Hahaha…. Okay… Yeah… as you really really see we miss out a lot of fun rides. What happen? Well all of them is under maintenance or there is this super long queue. Can you imagine. By the time we finish, it’s almost 5pm. You should know how long we queue up for the rides right?

1712 hrs
We walked in to First World Theme Park to puchase the ticket for X-TREME Push The Limits! I didn’t know what’s that but well sis says it’s some acrobat stuff. Okay… I’ll watch it even I’m dead tired. I’ve never watch such shows before. Guess what the tickets arent that expensive after all. It’s only 70 for the scale 1 seats, 60 for the scale 2 seats and 50 for the scale 3 seats. Jason brought the tickets and well, they prvide 20% discount for VISA card members. Wooo hooo… so we got 5th row from the stage tickets for only RM56. That was dead cheap.

We then headed back to our apartment, have dinner, bath, rest a little and get ready to watch the exciting show. Hahaha… yeah I will be talking about the show in the next entry. I think I already have a super long entry for the day~

Genting, here I come~

Velverse Invaded Genting Highlands

It’s been ages since I last set my precious foot on this place. Haha… yup, to precious to even go anywhere. Just lay my big fat self at home. Roll around my matress, squeeze the teddy bears and pretend I am a silkworm. I am getting lazier and lazier to move around. No! This can’t happen to me. I’m still to young and too many things to see.

I finally have a solid excuse to convince myself that I need to leave my dusty and messy room. Yup, it’s my sister’s birthday. How can I not show myself. I guess I will have to, or else I will be nag till death. Some might wonder, so serious? You bet, no kidding NAG TILL DEATH! Worst kind of torture god has ever created.

Well, at least the nagging part does give me an impact. I need some good rest. Fresh cool air to reduce the amount of pimples on my face, the greens to relax my eyes, the mist to moisture my skin and well, the time to spend some time with my family.

I packed my bag like 3 hours before the trip. Guess what, I guess I almost bring 1/4 of my stuff in room there. Had this big santa clause like bag with me. Don’t ask me what’s inside my bag, I still dan’t figure out what I stuff inside. But still with that big bag, I still manage to forget to bring stuffs. How sad.. I’m growing older and older.

Too many things to write about this genting trip. I guess I will just finish the pictures montage tomorrow. And show you guys my exciting trip to genting.

p/s - Jimbo, don’t lah jealous when I write very short about my stuffs but type a lot for andy. Hahaha.. I’m a simple person with a simple life, thus nothing much to write about. I write a little about myself daily, Andy on the other hand.. hahahaa.. only once a while, sure must cover all the details! So dun complain lah~ Promise you a long, long genting post. Hahahaha~

ANDY! ANDY! YOU KNOW I AM YOUR FANS?
