Didn’t your mama ever warn you never talk to strangers? As a matter of fact, do we really listen to them? But then again.. does my mama ever listen to my grandma and does my grandma even listen to my great grandma… and on and on and on?
If my mum did listen to my grandma… I wonder how he would know my dad. And well, with the current technology like Internet, can we really resist the temptations to talk to strangers? Yeah… and well, to me… strangers are people I haven’t know. Which then leaves me to the option of wanting to know them or not.
Back to the movie, Gigi decided that she wants to watch the movie. Obviously I have no objections. Not that I am kind or what.. but movies…. I mean.. they are like diamonds to girls. I just loved it.. but then again.. thriller and horror movies, I am too chicken to watch it alone.. thus most of the time I skip them when there is no one to accompany me to see it. Yeah.. you will know how chicken I can be if you ever watch movie together with me.
The movie resolves around a teenage young girl (Jill) being grouded by her parents because she over used her phone limits. Yeah.. way over limits. Thus, her parents decided to make her babysit in order to earn some cash and learn to be more responsible. Yeah.. the reason for the over limits.. she had this long fight/talk with her boyfriend. Yeah… listening him explain why he and her best friend kissed.
Yes… like all thriller movie.. you will start to sit down and wonder why the location they are heading is so deep inside and well, don’t they ever worry if anything goes wrong? I bet they don’t. Okay.. they have this big house. When Jill arrived, the owners are rushing to leave. So they briefly tell Jill stuffs and left. Everything was okay, and some cleverly suspense scene were incorporated. Yeah… like the maid walking around and never formally introduce herself. The house have this auto detect human and switch on and off the light thingy.
Everything was okay until suddenly weird calls started coming in. Yeah… either no one is talking on the other side or you can hear breathing sounds. The caller even leads Jill to run around like a cat and mouse game. The suspense for the movie was rather long. Yeah.. which keeps me moving about at my seat, covering half my face, slanting my body here and there but the ending, TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!
I have no idea what the director is thinking. The caller was some psycho maniac who was being hurt and caught in like 10 minutes and without much battle. Worst is… they even pan through from left to right the “mysterious” caller face. *so potong stim* The ending… it was sad. It was the normal ending which leads you to wonder if there is any sequel to it. Yeah… for my guess. If this movie sells, it surely comes with a sequel.
There are many things which I don’t understand. If you are a parent leaving your children home with a babysitter. When the babysitter says “Would you want me to go up and check?” and you say “NO”. Be logical. Yeah… you worry they might wake up… just because she open the door? As for the psycho killer… How does he know how many people stays there? Where the kids sleep? How you know their house have this auto detect human and switch on and off the light thingy? How would you know they even have a guest house on the opposite?
I am just confused. The opening of the movie really did get me going and I was hoping for more. But I guess it is just disappointing.
