Well, what could I summarize from this movie? Hmm, I don’t usually do this at the starting of the review but let’s just do it this once. It was a big hype on the Internet. Everyone is talking about the movie where you have Samuel L. Jackson on the screen. Who would not have known him. With the amount of big movies he appears in.

Not to even mention the title of the movie. Yes, it sounds cheesy to me as in… right.. it’s obvious snakes on a plane. The poster is totally out. It’s as if it’s some “I NEED HELP FUNDING” logo. The ones with people’s face on the poster make Samuel L. Jackson look like a psycho killer.

Yes, you can tell how 1 year of hype and a name of a big star can bring a movie that far. Who says a movie need to be totally good? As long as it have some famous star, okay okay kind of acting any B grade movie can make it to the top. When everyone goes “woooooooo… waaaaaaaaa”. I’m not saying the movie is bad. Just I think it doesn’t deserve the hype and acclaimed they receive.

I think the film setting, the film quality and the props of this movie is quite B grade compare to the other movies seen. Well… but let’s not be too picky, the movie started of when Sean Jones (Nathan Philips) witness a murdering scene. Yeap, one of those big shot mafia person, Eddie Lee.

Sean manage to escape and goes back to his apartment. Which in where, he is now a subject to be removed from the earths surface. Yes, assassins is on his butt and Neville Flynn (Samuel L. Jackson), a FBI agent is set to save him and bring him to Los Angeles to testify against Eddie.

Claire Miller (Juliana Margulies) is the air stewardess in charge and is flying for her last time was upset and furious when Sean and Neville was up on board last minute and screw up their arrangements. Sean and Neville occupy the whole first class and everyone else was being placed at the economy class section.

There were some characters which from the start you know they won’t die thing. Which includes a bitchy woman, Mercedes Harbont (Rachel Blancard) and her dog. I still wonder how they get the dog on board. A famous singer Three G (Flex Alexander) and the two little kiddo.

Just when they think the plane was safe and they could escort Sean perfectly to LA.. problem starts to arise when they are hanging in the mid air. A box of poisonous snakes were released. The best part, the flowers that they got as a token of appreciation for flying with the airlines is being sprayed with some female snake hormones smell (something like that) which will cause all the snakes to go crazy!

That is when all snakes are falling of here and there.. killing people one by one… Yes, people died in an ugly way. Swollen, foam starts to drool out and well.. just ugly. I felt pain especially for one passenger when the snake just jumps out from the toilet bowl and bit the guy’s dick. Ouch… double ouch!

But well, some girls manage to get the big “O” with the snake before dying. Ah.. she couldn’t ask for more! But I was somehow amazed. The whole plane have snakes falling here and there and everywhere including the pilots cabin. The only place with no snakes falling down was the first class section. Which sounds so pathetic.

How could this happen! I mean, if everywhere is flooded by snakes, what makes the first class so special that even the pilot’s cabin didn’t have that privilege?

The ending… obviously predictable. Sean will never die as good people never dies. Neville… obviously won’t die too.. or else who will be dating with the sorta so call lead actress? The two little kiddos? They surely won’t die. Others were being attacked by like 4-5 snakes while they only have one snake biting them.

Overall, I think it was a simple story with lots of loop holes, which includes why the snakes were not on the first class section. Then it goes on to.. the snakes goes crazy over the flowers as it has this smell that has been circulating in the plane that makes the snakes goes bonkers. And in one scene.. you can see this snake was busy curling at the flowers. When Neville knows about that, why don’t he just throw the flowers to a side and let them all curl up?

I just think the total thought over process is bad. From the production to the setting was cheap except for maybe Samuel L. Jackson’s fees. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an entertaining and exciting movie to look at. Better still if you like to see people die in an ugly way. Lots of surprise frights here and there. Just… sigh… just… ah.. never mind… watch it.

Where to start… Let’s see, I opt to see something funny, something I wouldn’t wanna waste my brain cell thinking what the whole plot is all about, why this scene is shot this way.. why this.. why that…. how come this… pay attention to the apple… it’s the key to the whole story thing. Yes, my brain needs a major rest as there are many question and situation arises in life that I need to figure out.

Yes… *yak yak yak* Why you go see such movie? It’s one of the worst movie of the year! Don’t waste money lar… *blah blah blah* . Right… don’t be too concern, I know what I am watching and from the trailer, I already didn’t expect anything out of this movie. I just need a good laugh, that’s all.

Right.. about the movie, the title sorta self explained 50% of the movie with Marlon Wayans acting as Calvin, the little man who was constantly jailed for thief and other criminal offence. Just when he was released, Percy (Tracy Morgan) came and pick him up and they quickly have a job to do. This time, to steal a diamond a size of a golf ball.

For obvious reasons, the scene was not believable but then, it’s a slapstick comedy so… I don’t think I want to bother commenting about it. Everything did work out fine and they manage to steal it. The only problem is the cops are going after them. Calvin then hides the diamond at Darryl (Shawn Wayans)’s wife, Vanessa (Kerry Washington)’s handbag

Calvin and Percy would have to come out with an idea to get to the diamond. Since they overheard that Darryl wanted a baby badly, Calvin being that little is the perfect solution to the problem. Without further surprise, yes, he is the little baby that goes “goo goo ga ga” at the doorstep.

Calvin was instantly being accepted and kept. Obviously there are some exceptions. Vanessa’s dad (John Witherspoon) didn’t actually like the idea of the baby thing. Yeah, they were about to keep the baby for the weekend as the government service department is closed on weekend. It’s just enough time for Calvin to steal the diamond out and run.

Much mischievous stuff happen like typical baby problem arises. Not to even mention that Calvin was so excited when see Vanessa’s friends coming over for a visit. Oh yeah, blonde, big boobs… haha sexy.. do I need to tell you what is the excitement all about?

Obviously after bonding together as a family for 2 days, Calvin finally decides to go back and help the Darryl family when he knows that his boss, Walken (Chazz Palminteri) is going over to Darryl’s house thinking he double crossed them and wanted to take the diamond back.

As a typical comedy ending, obviously the badass people got beaten up badly and jailed. And yes… obviously Darryl will keep Calvin at home.. Duh… it’s one of those movie you could never expect any surprise as this will mean I would be surprised and used my brain cells. Not part of my plan though!

Well.. well, a movie that needs no introduction as the movie title already says it all. Horror movie that resolves around a creepy house that eats anything that falls on it property.

With Steven Spielberg big name in it, who needs big stars voice over. Then again… who says only big stars does the best voice over?

Okay… the movie starts peacefully where it shows a little leave falling and floating in the air like many other movie (eg. Forest Gump). Then there is this little girl riding on her tricycle whistling Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Story’s song. Haha.. yes, talking about hardcore Steven Spielberg branding!

I must say I am surprised they didn’t name any character Steven. Maybe they do, just I didn’t very much bother about the small small and sub sub characters. Oh yeah… let’s continue. Everything was so peaceful when suddenly the tricycle got stuck at Mr. Nebbercracker’s (Steve Buscemi) front lawn. He angrily march out of the house and gives the little girl a scary look while grumbling. He then took the little girl’s tricycle and scares her away.

DJ (Mitchel Musso) who stays opposite of Nebbercracker is always eyeing on him thinking he is a psychotic old man that is suspicious and scary. He always tries to tell his parents about it but at no vail. He kept getting shut down by his parents. Not to even mention his mother treats him like a little boy.

One day, when his parents were out of town and Chowder (Sam Lerner) came over for a visit. While playing around, the basketball that he newly buy falls at Nebbercracker’s lawn. He then begs DJ to help get it back. He refused at first.. but then decided to do it. Just as he is about to reach for the ball, Nebbercracker came out and scream and scared the shit out of DJ. Just as Nebbercracker is about to grab DJ, he was attacked with a stroke. DJ thought he killed Nebbercracker and the spirit is now at the house. Matters turn worst when he receive a phone call from Nebbercracker’s house.

They both starts to be really scared when the witness the Nebbercracker’s house ate the dog. They even suspect their babysitter, Zee’s (Maggie Gyllenhaal) boyfriend, Bones (Jason Lee) is being eaten by the house as well when they saw the beer bottle being sucked down. They then start to watch the house and jot down every little detail about it.

They then saw this cute girl, Jenny (Spencer Locke). Both Chowder an DJ tries to impress the girl after saving her from being eaten by the house. They all try to tell th adults about the house but none of them believe.

Together they figure and finally comes out with a decision to go in to the house. Just as they were inside, they notice that the house is actually very much alive by itself and noticed that the house has this dark secret.

Yes, apparently everyone rumoured that Nebbercracker killed his wife. Yeah, his wife is a giant size woman that is being locked in the circus. Nebbercracker was so in love with her that he decided to save her and live happily with her. They then bought a land and built a house. When they were constructing the house, some small kids was throwing stones at her and teasing her. She was very angry and decided to run after them where she slipped and fall in to the cement of the house and died.

Her angry soul was buried together with the house and it eats and scared any children especially on Halloween’s day. Mr. Nebbercracker was home in the nick of time when DJ, Chowder and Jenny needs him. Yeah, the house was so angry when DJ and friends pull Mr. Nebbercracker to runaway when they know that all this while, Mr. Nebbercracker scares the kids away in order to protect them.

Mr. Nebbercracker was left with no other choice except to blow the house down as it gets out of control. He was then being throw and got hurt and the job was obviously being passed to the trio. The funny part is I never understand why they bother trying to light the dynamite when all they need to do is just throw it in to the chimney.

Obviously the house was being blown in to small pieces. We are talking about watching a children animation movie here. The baddies always die or got jailed up.

Yes, if you ask me… I think this movie is not that suitable for kids as it surely will make them have nightmares. And obviously, there are lots of verbal jokes which I doubt kids would understand.

Overall, the animation still seems a little raw compared to Pixar’s and dreamwork’s stuff. But well… I must say they did a very good job on animating the house.

Don’t really leave the cinema that early as there are some catchy bits at the end. Yeah, Bones, the dog and the policemen that were being eaten by the house in the first place reappeared.. unharmed… unscratched. Hahaha.. yeah, apparently, they will have to do that in order to get the PG (Parental Guidance Suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children. This signifies that the film rated may contain some material parents might not like to expose to their young children – material that will clearly need to be examined or inquired about before children are allowed to attend the film. Explicit sex scenes and scenes of drug use are absent; nudity, if present, is seen only briefly, horror and violence do not exceed moderate levels.) rating.

Oh yeah, please visit their site. I love their loading page. It has this flip animation thing going on while waiting for the page to load and it’s pretty cute.
