Loads of big cast in this one. Something I would not like to miss even if it is a crap show. Yeah… I have been patiently waiting for it to come. Starring Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster, Academy Award Nominee Clive Owen. This three names is big enough to bang into anyone’s head. *at least it is big enough to bang me in my head*

Clive Owen eh.. yeah.. He I must see. Hahaha.. I think he has a very powerful pair of eyes. Yeah… it’s a hard to explain thing but well.. yeah.. just look him in the eyes.

A very nicely done opening graphic. Well.. I am talking about how the titles and credits come about. It looks good and well sorta matches the whole theme thing.
*bravo bravo.. clap clap clap* I personally like the Asian touch to the opening theme. Yeah… believe it or not, they used a Bollywood song to be the theme of this movie. Oh yes… I was looking all around for the song. It is so nice.. I felt like dancing in the cinema.

Okay okay… the movie only have a simple concept behind it. The Perfect Robbery. Something so perfect you can’t do anything even though someone has robbed the bank. *let it go.. let it go… let it go*. Yeah… no suspects, no witness and no evidence. Everything seems connected yet untraceable.

I find the coolest part of the movie is the starting of the movie where it is a zoom in shot on Clive Owen when he is saying “My name is Dalton Russell. Pay strict attention to what I say because I choose my words carefully and I never repeat myself.” WOoohooo….

The movie starts of with Dalton Russell (Clive Owen) and four other robbers walked in to the bank dressed up as a wall painters. I love the scene where they shot the van they came in… it was written there “Never leaves until the job is done”

Police detective Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) is sent to negotiate with Dalton. Well.. to his surprise, it is going to be a bad day for him as Dalton is a very smart individual that has everything planned to perfection. Matters got worst when Madeline White (Jodie Foster) is being sent by the Mayor to assist in the case. Well obviously she have a motive. She will have protect her clients interest that is in the safety box. She will have to make sure no one and nothing in the safety box is being touched or exposed.

I love how the director place the twist and turn around the show. The best part is how Dalton is so careful with his plans. I was rather disappointed with Jodie Foster’s character. I think she was being shadowed and well.. I think she din really shine that much in the movie. Well yeah, she surely have a cool look and sharp dialogue but hey, it was just disappointed.

Well… I believe some people were rather disturbed with how Spike Lee manage to slot in some racism scenes into the show. I very much enjoy how the movie twist and turn around but well… I guess I need to re-watch it again to get more details right. Love it. Especially the sharp dialogues.

There is something about this guy, Cha Tae-Hyeon (the guy who also acted in My Sassy Girl). Hahaha.. so to speak, he is not really that good looking but well.. he somehow manage to captivate the hearts of many ever since My Sassy Girl. This time being put together with Song Hye- Kyo (lead actress in the famous Korean series Full House). Yes, I guess it is a magnificant duo. One have the cute and naive look. The other have the cheeky yet sweet look.

Cha Tae-Hyeon takes up the role as Su-Ho, a simple student. Never outstanding and ever ordinary student. Song Hye- Kyo on the other hand is Su-Eun, the pretty and popular student in the school. Everyone in the school wants to be with her. The movie started of by showing how both of them crosspaths. Yeah.. Su-Eun saves Su-Ho who was drowning where she drops her pager in to the deep sea.

Everything goes fine until one day both of them bump into one another at the hallway. They both started to know each other. When both of them started dating, many people tries to object and is jealous for Su-Ho. Lots of funny scenes did occur. Hahaha…. I pitty his fatty classmate which always miss out on such outings.

They eventually grew closer where Su-Ho walks Su-Eun back. *I just love the scene* Yeah… lovely scene where Su-Eun gave Su-Ho a passion fruit with her house number on it. Lovely.. Lovely.. Lovely…. hehehe.. the best part is when Su-Eun’s dad bump into Su-Ho in front of the door.

Su-Ho and Su-Eun then went for a tour together. Wow… the scenery was magnificant. They both stay over at some rather spooky old school like place.. but the inside was rather cozy. Everything was right and *ta da* they both have their first kiss Well.. the rain even stopped for a minit. Ah…. just so sweet.

But well as we all learn, good things only happens in a short time. Yeah… Su-Eun suddenly fainted and Su-Ho immediately sent her back only to discover something tragic will fall on to her girlfriend. Yes, she has leukemia and is dying. Sob sob….

It’s a tragic ending but hey… that is what most korean love story ends. But well, the storyline was rather simple and well I think you would agree if I say it has been overly used. But… seriously, the scenes were breath taking. Really really mellow and well… it somehow did manage to melt me a little.

It’s not as good as My Sassy Girl or Windstruck but hey, it’s worth a watch.

v for velverse~~ v for velverse~~ v for velverse~~opss.. I just can’t control myself each time I see the trailer and well I surely kenot control myself 5 minutes before the show starts. I was over excited. I dunno why. I heard the movie was good. I saw the trailer. It got me going. Yeah… v for velverse… also motivates me to go watch it. Well practically, I can’t find a reason not to watch it since I like matrix that much and this movie is from the creators of the matrix. What is best is what it constantly says “People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.” The opening of the movie immediately catch my attention. I love how the camera angles and the mood set in v’s dressing table. It was so dramatic. It is even matched with this “voice of england’s” dramatic speech and talks. But well.. nothing match this line.

V: Of course you can. I’m not questioning your powers of observation, I’m merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

I was like… who on earth can write such good stuff. And well, I was completely blown away with his introduction line. I mean… he got me at HELLO… he got me at HELLO.

V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

I dunno about you but hey, this is the first time I have heard so many “v” word in my entire life. Yeah man… I mean… it’s easy to make the “f” sentence like… Fook found a fine farm at fairyland. *see… i am talented after all*

I love how this movie was being shot and the concept behind the whole movie. It has it upbeat moments when V saved Evey and bring her to listen to an ochestra. Yeah. V actually blew up the whole St. Mary and then interupted the tv station to broadcast a speech to remind the people that they should not be afraid of the government and follow blindly as they say. Yes.. yes… Remember, remember.. the 5th of November (which was stated wrongly in the BM translations.. they stated 15th).

Evey who coincidently work at the TV station saved V from being attacked from the back. Having no choice, V saved Evey and brought her home. V couldn’t allow Evey to leave the house because it is a high risk for V as the government is looking for them.

The movie then followed by a lot of series of murder. Yeah… all done by V. Yes… one must know why eh.. well, it was being explained in the movie. THe movie got a little bit slow down when Evey manage to ran away and landed at his boss’s house. Apperently, his boss was also one of those who is against the High Chancellor.

Evey’s boss house got busted when her boss made a controversial comedy on the TV. Evey was apperently captured and was thrown in to a lockup. There she found a small piece of paper. Yeah.. and autobiography of a women.

She soon realise how important it is to stay strong and understands what V is trying to do.

The ending part was cool. Especially when V put the decision to bomb the parliment to Evey while V went on looking for the Chancellor. The words he say was superb. I can never forget.

V: Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. There is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

I actually cannot believe it is such a wonderful movie. It is a 2 and 1/2 hours movie but yet it seems so short. I dun find it boring.. and best of all.. there remains some mystery in the movie. It’s like I can be 80% sure of who V is base on the nitty gritty details from the movie.. but I can never confirm kind of thing. I like it. Just like how matrix is.. It’s an open end movie. It’s up to everyone to decide and believe.
