I have been doped by another beautifully crafted poster! Ah… mistakes mistakes mistakes and mistakes again and again and again.

The story started with James (an architect), a distant relative of the Yang family who just came back from overseas to inherit an old house. Being an architect, he loves the house condition as it has a great gothic taste to the old building. James was hoping Yo (his girlfriend) would move in and get married with him. However things turn rather sour when Yo says she wants to go overseas and continue her studies.

But out of a sudden, Yo turn up at James house and told him that she will be staying in Taipei and continue doing some dance shows.

*spoiler alert* I actually don’t know who in this reality world would stay in such unfinish or I should say scary house. With the ceiling almost falling, sounds here and there, doors that almost fall here and there. TELL ME!!! who on earth would stay in such scary house lar in real world. I mean.. seriously, if I am Yo, I would rather sleep on the streets man.

Okay… ditch those, erm… James friends then turn up at his house to celebrate. Weird things soon happen. Both James friend kept coming or in precise words sneaking into the house. The best part, no one actually knows how they come into the house.

Bad things start to happen when James friend died in a hotel far from Taipei. It creates lots of curiosity and a detective decided to investigate. And just as he starts to get closer to the case, he himself died in a tragic manner. Yeah… he knew he is going to sneak into the house by 12am, so he decided not to fall asleep. And for safety reasons, he even handcuff his hands to the bed frame. However that didn’t work. He tore his hands and somehow ended dead at the Yang’s house.

Yo’s best friend finally knew the cause of what happen and enlighted Yo. Yo soon find out that the Yang family was cursed. The Yang family’s fortune comes from raising “child ghost” (dead babies fed on blood and refused the opportunity to reincarnate). Raising child ghosts may bring great fortune, but at the same time great doom. As time pass by, most of the Yang family children was being born with problems.

James mother used to be the treasured one since she was born healthy. Her twin sister however was being locked in the attic because she is sick and has cancer. Fate starts to change after she gives brith to James. She fall very sick but her twin sister in the opposite feels better. They both swap place and soon James’s mother was being locked. Her anger then makes her set and commanded the “child ghost” to kill the whold family. Everyone in the family was hang till death at the exect same height and same time.

*spoiler alert* The ending was rather confusing. It is said that James actually knew what happen from the start and that he was wrong to set her mother free. I dun really get what the ending means as he is suppose to be carrying his girlfriend Yo, but it suddenly turn out that he is carrying is mother. I have no idea what is going on. Everything happen because of the “child ghost” or James’s mother? And if inheritence is a curse, what curse is that? I dun get it. What will happen if Yo remains pregnant?

I think this first taiwan horror movie tries to hard to have the Wong Kar Wai feel. Too much artistic values are tried to be placed in to the movie. However the non consistent script and untold story makes people confuse and to make matter worst, they try to make an open ended movie when there isn’t much substance in the middle to support it.

Worst of all, no one could tell why death only surrounds certain people in the movie. I just think everything would be so much better if they could just not try so hard to impress because they are the first to do such stuffs in Taiwan. But I must say again… the poster is seriously cool! The weird part, none of the wallpapers or the mainpage of the website features the same element.

The Final Destination movies was known as movies that will shock you till death. Yes, when it was first launched, it manage to catch the attention of many people. I guess it is human’s nature to see horror death. To some, the uglier way you die, the better.

As for this third episode, it is no different from the first two episodes. A group of students went to a theme park to celebrate their pre-graduation night. Everyone was having fun. Wendy, was busy snapping pictures for the school book soon have this terrible vision that the rollercoaster ride is going to turn into a killer ride and insisted that everyone jump out from the rollercoaster. She manage to convince around 10 people to get off the ride. However her boyfriend wasn’t that lucky to cheat death.

*Question* In the roller coaster incident.. I have one point which I dun understand. In her vision, everything started to get messy when frank dropped his cam and it got strapped to one of the pillars and then things started to fly out here and there. And then every got killed and stuff. But if frank din get on to the ride, how could this accident happen?

Wendy then found a death pattern when one by one of her classmates that she has photographed before hand died. She and Kevin tries to stop anything and everything from happening however they finally know and understand the fact that they can’t cheat death no matter how they try.

I was quite disappointed with the movie as everything happen so fast and unclear compare to the previous 2 movie. Seriously, I was expecting to cover my whole face, spilt coke on the person next to me, toss some popcorn around and all. But no, all I ever do was just “about” to cover my face thing. And seriously, I dun see cruel death here. I see lots of minced meat and tomato sauce around. There weren’t much detail stuff being showed compare to the previous episodes. Hmm… so who wanna sit next to me when we go watch horror movie?

Movie Title: Big Momma’s House 2

The big momma is back! Well, each time you hear the word “it’s back”, we always associate it with “it’s bigger, it’s better” but consider this not up to the expectations of it being bigger, better and bolder. Well, yes spot on!

*spoiler alert* Be prepared as what I was about to say is not fully beautiful words.

Okay, a continuation from the first movie, Malcom got married and settle down for a FBI desk job. Yeah, easy life, safe and yeah.. SAFE. Everything was about to change when he found out his once upon a time partner got murdered. The police force is trying to sneak a undercover nanny to the suspect’s house to gather more information.

*blink blink* Malcom sees this as an opportunity and what is better than big momma in the house. He easily swept other candidates off the interview and secure the job. Big Momma soon realise that it’s more than just a case when there are family problems, household chores and addition to it when he needs to take care of everyone’s emotions.

Everyone in the house have weird attitudes. Tom Fuller (suspect) is ever busy with work and has no time for the family, Leah Fuller (wife) ermm.. well she doesn’t seems busy with work but hey I dunno where she has gone to most of the time, Molly (eldest daughter) is in the “mid teens confusion” mode, Carrie (second child) always longs for her parents attention thus she joins the cheerleader, Andrew (youngest child) never actually talks and well… he sorta like to jump from tall places.

The classic part of the movie was when Big Momma is wearing this yellow swimsuit running at the beach. Yeah! hahaha… CLASSIC I tell you. Big Momma was suppose to catch this hacker who is responsible in creating this worm which he is gonna sell to Fuller. However, Big Momma blew his cover, the hacker jump from the jetty and landed on the boat. *spoiler* What happened here? I almost stand up and ask them for a refund. Nothing was being showed or mentioned later on. I mean.. okay… he jump, hit his body on the boat and then fainted and then *blink blink* I am being left at the movie hanging? Is there some problem with the editing or is it just a bad plot?

When the police figured that Fuller might have merge the programs and is getting ready to sell it, they decided to find help from Stewart. Big Momma was shocked to find out that eventually Stewart is a 12 year old kid. In the midst of hacking into the system, Molly called for help. Big Momma rush over to help only to find out the truth about the whole case which apparently tells that Tom Fuller was innocent.

Conclusion, it’s a comedy so yeah, be prepared to laugh. By just watching the first 30 minutes of the show, I can safely say that the first episode is far better than this episode. I think in this show, they try to bring in far too much emotion and care for everyone. It’s not a bad thing but just, comedy and emotions just don’t work hand in hand. I understand that shift of priorities are needed. But hey, it sorta dilutes the laughter part, tones down lots of things. I dunno… just not as good as I hope it would be.
